Moreover, McCain and Bush made nasty comments about each other while both had a legitimate chance to win the nomination. Biden, never had a chance to win the nomination and was always running for Secretary of State or VP. Thus, it is more likely that they were Biden's true feelings then (as he had nothing to gain by saying them) and they are his true feelings now. Biden, has consistently praised McCain.
