Slots may seem like a windfall now. But, here in Ontario we have had them at the tracks for 10 years and our industry has declined. Tracks that used to have crowds of 1500 to 2500 are now drawing 75 to 300 fans, and the handle has declined from
$100,000 to $150,000 per night, is now as low as $6000 per night. Racetrack owners only care about the bottom line, and got dependant on slots money, and have not promoted the sport. Now, slots have maxed out and are on the decline, and purses are starting to fall, with fewer race dates. The industry employed 60,000 before slots and now only 19,000 work in it. Be sure to look this gift horse (slots) in the mouth.

VIDEO LOTTERY GAMBLING will eventually lead to the demise of horse-racing throughout NEW YORK and the country!!! It is only a means to generate more tax revenue and non-horse race betting for the owners of the tracks and the 'silent' partners in the mob who 'own' the VIDEO CONCESSIONS!!!
