Golisano To Watch Hillary From Clinton’s Skybox

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on Aug 26, 2008

Rochester-area billionaire Tom Golisano gave $1 million to the Democratic Convention host committee in Denver and gets his own skybox at Invesco Field for Barack Obama’s speech on Thursday night.

But tonight he’ll be sitting in someone else’s skybox at the Pepsi Center: former President Bill Clinton.

The two will watch Hillary Clinton give a speech to the delegates tonight, Golisano aides confirmed.

Golisano and Clinton have a good relationship after Golisano was one of the original backers in 2005 of the Clinton Global Initiative.

In December of that year, Golisano hosted Clinton at aptly named B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The duo also took in a Buffalo Sabres game; Golisano owns the team.

They were also together, above, at RIT when Clinton was the keynote speaker at RIT last year—the last commencement for former RIT presiden Al Simone.

Wonder how much Responsible New York talk will come up.

So much for his “independence.” This is the same guy that he claimed in ads that he was more conservative than Pataki. Although I am sure the NY GOP would like Golisano’s money as well.
