The 99th, puppets and a clarification

Still awaiting word from the Association of Sock Puppets or some other such organization that defends, promotes and otherwise protects the reputation of sock puppets, which are taking a beating this week in the race for the 99th Assembly District. That’s the contest where Republican John Degnan is challenging Assemblyman Greg Ball, R-Patterson.
Ball this week has referred to Degnan as an angry sock puppet, a (non-emotional) sock puppet, just a puppet and even (during last night’s debate) “an angry sock pocket.”
The first “angry sock puppet” comment came from Ball when he addressed why a former girlfriend had filed a protective order against him in 2003 in Washington, D.C. Degnan, Ball said, was acting as such on behalf of Albany insiders who wanted to turn the race away
from the issues — a contention Degnan denies.
In court documents, the former girlfriend said Ball followed her to Israel, where she had gone because of her job with CNN. Some this week had questioned how Ball, who was stationed with the Air Force in Washington, could find time to do such a thing. Ball today explained he requested and took two days of leave to make the trip.
Both men at last night’s debate said they were against gay marriage. Degnan said he supported civil unions. Ball clarified his position today and said that in addition to extending benefits to same-sex partners, he, too, supported civil unions.
And, as far as I can tell through Google, there is no pro-sock-puppet group. Yet.
But there are instructions on how to make a sock puppet. And it is a bit of political slang.

The real issue now is Greg Ball’s position with that poor woman in Washington DC. How could Greg Ball threaten her by telling her he was “Going to ruin her career”, then he told her he had a sexual transmitted disease and he stalked her, in fact her went to Irsrael to follow her. This man is truely scary. I pray my daughter never meets a man like Greg Ball.
My impression is that women don’t obtain a restraining order lightly. I don’t know much about this sort of thing, but this seems very serious indeed.
One point: I have never before heard of the male named in the restraining order replying four days later with a court order restraining the woman who just filed the order to keep him away.
Just never heard of it.
Was the Air Force officer afraid of her? How big is this woman? Was she trained in hand-to-hand combat?
It’s really kind of hard to imagine why any woman would want to approach the male she is keeping at bay with a court order.
Or am I missing something?
Wouldn’t be the first time.

Ball didn’t apply for his Order of Protection four days after she got her order. He applied for an order of protection within TWO HOURS of being served. He was so outraged and petulent that he probably blew a gasket when that D.C. Cop appeared at this door in the wee hours of the morning to serve him with the Court Order. He ran to Court and got his own court order. I’ve read that this is typical behavior during DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Ball claims falsely, “Well, there’s no allegations of violence”. Really? The HECK there aren’t!! Ball threatens to destroy her career, Ball follows her all over our nation’s capital, he calls her at all hours of the day and night, all while she repeatedly asks him to stop, she goes on a work assignment to the middle east, and he follows her there as well, just to show her that he can get to her whereever she goes, that no place is safe, he tells her he has an STD. Basically, he scares the daylights out of her. And that’s not violence?
Greg Bawl is nothing more than a schoolyard bully who cries when he is shown to be who he really is. Even rabid anti-immigrant types like “TakeBackAmerica” on the PoJo news blogs have no use for him.
This knucklehead even has his campaign signs in Dutchess County towns outside his 99th District; they have even been seen in Connecticut! What kind of NYS Assemblyman doesn’t even know that Connecticut is not in New York?
I think that, we as taxpayers, ought to demand that he pay the U.S. Air Force Academy our money back. Come to think of it, he ought to reimburse the Pawling Central School District for the years he wasted on our dime!
Many of us are so disgusted with Ball. We had the thought that he was a sincere, kind and gentle person. Wow, were many of my other neighbors shocked to hear about him stalking a woman. There is NOTHING worse than a man who thinks he is superior and tries to bully a woman.
Even if Ball gains some votes on primary day, the important day is in November when the true voters come out to the polls. Ball will not win.
Three strikes & your out!
1. Ball financed his first campaign using donations obtained by misleading people to think they were donating to help children.
2. I respect the right of people to debate the immigration issue, but it is quite another thing to stir up hatred against immigrants.
3. As a former prosecutor, I can tell you that the reason we have stalking statutes is precisely because of people like Ball who feel their behavior is “no big deal”. It sure as hell is a big deal, and if Ball had done to my daughter what he did to this woman, he wouldn’t be around to run for re-election.
Every decent Republican in the 99th needs to take down the signs in their lawn, get on board with Degnan, and vote Ball off the ticket in September, and out of office in November.

Trustee Banks is correct. Most persons would not get a restraining order unless they felt they were in genuine harm or harassment. Greg Ball was dumped by a girlfriend and he turned around and chose to stalk her.
He followed her to her office, he followed her to her home, he showed up at her friends homes and even flew around the world, totally uninvited, to stalk her. How creepy.
He told her had an STD, but wouldn’t elaborate. He was out to ruin this girls’ career and her life. Too bad for Greg, she’s too strong for him.
She slapped him with a restraining order and he disappeared.
What a low life loser. I can’t believe this man is allowed to hold elected office.
This is a real sad story for the woman that had to deal with loser Ball. NO ONE should be stalked but we read about these things all the time. Ball is power hungry and it appears this type of personality does not care who they hurt in the process of gaining power.
Word on the street is Ball and his people are harrassing and stalking the Senator in his district. Greg Ball is starting to lose it, I hope law enforcement keeps a close on him. I am concerned for our Senator, Ball sent out a strange robo call today asking people to call the Senator and gave out his private home number and Ball had it set up like the phone call was coming from the Senators home phone. I hope the press and law enforcement keep a close eye on Ball, he is losing it.
Yes, we got this robo call too. The caller id first said unknown than suddenly changed to Helen Liebell with a telephone number on it. Ball claimed that Liebell has sponsored Degnans campaign against Ball telling lies. Ball said the most recent attack from Liebell about the order of protection is an outright lie against Ball. Ball said TWO TIMES for people to call Liebell and repeated Liebells telephone number two times. How does one rig up a robo call to have caller id have someone’s home phone and name? This IS TAMPERING WITH PHONE ID AND SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW. Is Ball liable for crossing an unlawful line here??????????
Ball is so used to attacking others with lies and now he is getting scarey.
All this stuff on the current Assemblyman is an eyeopener to many people. Using someone’s telephone number is false representation and should be illegal. Ball must be getting desparate. Sort of a frightening person when the tide is turned against him. What will he do next?

I have news for you. There are more things coming out of our FRIEND, Mr. Gregory Robert Ball. Yes, he set up these harassing and threatening robo-calls, using the Senator’s number. Not to worry….........there’s more coming out on Greg Ball, harassment, orders of protection, etc. Sit back and enjoy.
