Republican Kieran Lalor, who wants to unseat Rep. John Hall, D-Dover Plains, had this to say about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joining McCain’s ticket:
“Gov. Palin is the tough, reform-minded choice that the Republican Party needs,†said Lalor. “Gov. Palin challenged and changed Alaska’s culture of corruption and I am confident that she will bring that same spirit of reform to Washington. Republicans in Washington have lost their way, but Gov. Palin’s nomination shows that the culture of corruption is on the run.â€
“I’ve been blessed to have the support of the remarkable women in my life, with my wife, mother, sisters and daughters. John McCain will be a better leader with the addition of Gov. Palin’s strong character.â€

whew – it seems mr. lalor is delusional
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has a reputation of being a reformer: Shaking up the status quo and weeding out corruption in government.
Her GOP nomination reminds me of another GOP Vice-Presidential nomination. Like Palin, this governor had been in office for less than two years, but he was shaking things up and the Old Guard did not like it one bit. What did the members of the New York Republican Party hierarchy do to combat this ‘take no prisoners/no-holds barred’ governor? They got the brilliant idea of burying him in the Vice-Presidency, and that’s just what happened to NY Governor Theodore Roosevelt. There is a famous cartoon of angels leading TR into the murky waters of the vice-presidency. What happened next? Six months after becoming VP, TR became President upon the assassination of President William McKinley.
On January 20, 2009, John McCain, at age 72, would be the oldest man to assume the presidency for a first term.
Are we looking at another TR—this time in a skirt?
