Palin will compare herself to Obama
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin plans to take a swipe at Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama in her remarks to delegates at the Republican National Convention around 10:30 tonight.
“I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities,” the Republicans’ vice presidential nominee planned to say in her prepared remarks, comparing her tenure as an Alaskan mayor to Obama’s background as a community organizer in Chicago.
Palin will point out that she has lived most of her life in a small town and “was just your average hockey mom’’ until she “signed up for the PTA because I wanted to make my kids’ public education better.’’
“When I ran for city council, I didn’t need focus groups and voter profiles because I knew those voters, and knew their families, too,’’ Palin planned to say.
