Iona to mark “Constitution Day”

Iona College plans to commemorate the 221st anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution on Wednesday with a day full of election-focused activities.

The events will include a voter registration drive, mock election, election confessional booth and other activities including:

• “McCain, Obama & the World,” a student-led discussion on the presidential candidates and their foreign policy positions;
• “Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Choice: a Conversation about the ’08 Election Touching on Media, Society, Diversity and the Candidates,” which will feature students and faculty;
• Screening of “Who Counts? Election Reform in America”; and
• Screening of “Recount: The Story of the 2000 Presidential Election”

The events start at 10 a.m. at the LaPenta Student Union at the college, on North Avenue in New Rochelle.
