Paterson Wants Fed Relief Center In NYC

September
19

Gov. Paterson today sent letters to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and members of Congress, asking them to headquarter the new federal troubled asset relief program in New York City.

Paulson announced the program today as a way to rescue the mortgage securities industry.

Paterson, who has been all over the news this week calling for the Fed’s help, said the program should in New York City because of its “ingrained depth of knowledge about the industry, assets and the markets is unmatched by any other metropolitan area.”

You can read the full letter here.

Isn’t that part of the problem? Doesn’t Wall Street and NYC need an intervention at this point? Drug addicts generally can’t heal without removing them from their existing environment!

LOL. Good one. Albany also needs an intervention, or about 100 more jail cells for its corrupt Legislature.

I see Alan Hevesi’s son is looking at his own troubles now.
