Biagi: We need a tax cap

Posted by: Gerald McKinstry - Posted in Uncategorized on Sep 25, 2008

Rob Biagi, a Republican running against Assemblyman George Latimer in the 91st District, says the recent Census report that shows Westchester County has the highest property taxes in the country makes the case for a cap.  “Even when gas was cheap and it was a seller’s real estate market, it was hard enough to get by for the average taxpayer. Now, with the meltdown on Wall Street, it’s a real personal or family crisis for many of us. We can’t waste anymore time waiting for Sheldon Silver and his caucus of sycophants, including my opponent, to pass a tax cap,” Biagi said. “If they won’t fall in line with the rest of the Democrats and Republicans in this state – most especially our intrepid Governor – then the voters here in Westchester will speak up on Election Day and support the candidates that believe in and support Governor Paterson’s Tax Cap plan.” Read the story here.
