Debate watch party tonight in Mount Vernon

October
7

The Mount Vernon Democratic City Committee will hold a debate party tonight at its headquarters at 1 Park Ave. to watch the two presidential contenders take the stage in a town hall-style forum. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the debate starts at 9. The event is open to the public.

The committee has hosted a number of events to rally support for Obama including voter registration drives and a “Tri-state Rally For Change” that was held last Saturday. Devereaux Cannick, chairman of the Mount Vernon Democratic City Committee, said more than 500 Mount Vernon residents registered to vote in the last few weeks.

Call the Democratic Committee at 667-7300 for more info.

These 500 newly-enrolled Democrat voters would be well advised to get rid of a few Democrat office holders down there in MV.
