cab: What you say is true, and I know it. Problem is Mr. Silver, who dominates thinking and voting in the Assembly. Mike’s switch to the power party solidifies him in office, but puts a tight clamp on his being able to say what he needs to say. That he’s now hooked up with these people on the far left of the issues leads me to worry that he never will.

You might have considered: “Mayor Mike Spano” does sound nice. He’ll be effective for Yonkers in the Assembly only so long as he goes along with Shel Silver’s plans to increase our taxes and to kiss union butts in return for campaign donations, block voting, and telephone-bank help. On any issue, only if Silver has enough votes securely in his pocket will he allow any of his minions to disingenuously and uselessly vote differently in order for them to look good at home. This is the way the game is played up there. They vote to tax you another billion and then they send home 50 grand for the Boy’s Club.

This is as real as it gets, Mike Spano is a person who cares about others and does a great job for the people he represents. His decision to switch to democrat was brilliant, now Mike Spano is in the majority in the NYS Assembly and can effectively bring the necessary funding and legislation back to his Yonkers.

Forget all this “communication director” BS. All these blasted county executives, mayors and wannabe mayors should be able to stand up straight and effectively answer pertinent questions without ventriloquism. If they can’t do that, they are useless and possess no cogent personal vision nor coherent, honest beliefs. The reason we have all these communication directors is because the people they communicate for have no idea themselves what the specifics are of what they want to communicate.

I know Mike Spano and he knows how to spell, he knows how to talk and believe it or not, he even knows how to walk.
More importantly, he knows how to make things happen in government; Mike Spano understands that for government to run efficiently that you must surround yourself with people who are professionals in the fields that will help the city run. Mike Spano will need to hire a good city attorney, a good city planner, a good chief of staff, a good communications director, a good person to deal with economic development, etc…...

You get it, Mike Spano will retain the necessary people for the city of Yonkers to assure that Yonkers is a vibrant city with quality leadership.

How is this one, Mike may get all the same lines in the Mayor’s race. Mike is a strong leader who the people respect, Mike will run for Mayor on the same three lines and all his close friends on the republican side will support him. Mike may get the most votes ever if he decides to run for Mayor of Yonkers. I will be the first in line to volunteer for his campaign. It is not about the party, it is about the person and the people they represent.

Mike Spano is such a gentlemen, I hope after he gets reelected he considers running for Mayor of Yonkers. He is the type of person we need in our city, he knows how to get along with people and make thinks happen positively for the district he represents. “I Like Mike”
