Golisano Hiring

October
17

A source passed along this ad that was spotted on the campus of St. John Fisher outside Rochester seeking students to hire for $9 an hour for a “competitive state senate race.”

And the ad, it turns out, comes from Responsible New York, the Tom Golisano-backed political committee that in Rochester is endorsing Democratic candidates Richard Dollinger and David Nachbar in heavily contested races against Republican incumbents.

Laureen Oliver, co-chair of Responsible New York, said the group has set up field operations in Long Island, Rochester and Buffalo and is seeking volunteers and some paid staff to do field operations, such as going door-to-door and handing out literature.

So the group is doing more than just buy ads as Election Day approaches.

“We’re hiring some and taking volunteers,” Oliver said.
