McCain Says All Small Businesses Are Joe The Plumber

October
22

John McCain has another Joe The Plumber ad out today and again knocks Barack Obama’s tax policy, claiming it would “redistribute the wealth by punishing small businesses for expanding and creating jobs.”

Meanwhile, a Zogby/CSPAN/Reuters daily tracking poll this morning has put Obama up 51 percent to 42 percent, which continues an upward trend for Obama in its poll.

“Three big days for Obama. Anything can happen, but time is running short for McCain. These numbers, if they hold, are blowout numbers,” Zogby said.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA’S MEDIA??????

Obama’s VP pick Joe Biden says two days ago that he “Guarantees” at least six scenarios of Obama being challenged by other rogue counties if he is elected President…..............

And nothing is mentioned by the Liberal Media in a serious matter?

Obam’s VP pick Joe Biden “Guarantees” Obama will face major international crises if he should become President.

And nothing is mentioned by the Liberal Media in a serious matter?

Joe Biden says Obama will need help as these challenges are going to be thrown at him because of Obama having inexperience….........

And the Liberal Media says nothing but a cosmetic blip?

Nothing at all? There is something fundamentally wrong with the media in America (More so with The NY Slimes and NBC/MSNBC, both of whom are losing ground sales & ratings)

All we can do is talk of Sarah’s clothing cost? Why not mention Hillary’s or Obama’s clothing costs? Why mention anything about clothing?

The Media talks of Governor Palins experience as a Governor when Obama was only a State Senator ? (Being in the US Senate for less then one year before he decides running for President)

State Senators do nothing but Baby seat laws, Street naming’s and hand out Little league trophies. That is what Obama was a State Senator.

Obama’s VP pick Joe Biden says Obama is inexperienced and nothing is said by the liberal media…......

Jim..get used to a liberal democrat as president…
in four years if the republicans are smart they will
pick a moderate to beat him….

If it wasn’t already clear before this election cycle, it should be very clear now. The great majority of the “mainstream” media is hopelessly biased in favor of Obama. The job of the press supposedly is to inform, not to act as propaganda agents for Obama. They have miserably failed to inform objectively.

It’s no secret that the NY Times, NBC and others are losing lots of money. Part, not all, of the reason for that is they have become “niche” operations for almost-exclusively liberal points of view, and by doing so they have turned off many viewers and readers.

Anyone today who thinks they can get their news from only one source is seriously naive, or just doesn’t care. Either way, the country as a whole loses. The media bears a lot of this blame.

28 Newspapers that endorsed Bush in 04..endorsed Obama
this year..we know that the ny times are liberal..but
the ny post is the opposite…the networks are in the tank
but Fox has O’Reilly and and Hannity

Whoa consultant, you usually are a voice of moderation. Here you join the bubble of ideological conservatives who can’t see past the nose on their faces to witness the realignment of the electorate (not to mention the fact that demographic trends are favoring the Democrats in the years to come). Do you think that the conservative media has been bamboozled by the “liberal” media into endorsing Obama, when four years ago those same papers endorsed Bush? You surely realize that the non-reality based wing of the Republican party, stoked by McCain and Palin these past few weeks, will not allow a moderate Republican the nomination in four years, effectively guaranteeing eight years of President Obama. The Republican party has earned a long break in the political wilderness after effectively destroying American capitalism in the past eight years, while squandering an opportunity to spread democracy by bringing an unnecessary war in Iraq. As the conservative mayor of London said in endorsing Obama, “Democracy and capitalism are the two great pillars of the American idea. To have rocked one of those pillars may be regarded as a misfortune. To have damaged the reputation of both, at home and abroad, is a pretty stunning achievement for an American president.” The chickens have come home to roost, as they have in the past: eight years of deregulation and unchecked greed (the 1920’s -> Great Depression, the 1980’s -> stock market crash of 1987 and following eight years until the mid 90’s boom, and now eight years of deregulation and the belief that government is the sole source of evil -> the current recession). A stunning record of Republican achievement.

Kirsten Powers has an excellent column on the media and this election under “Opinion” in today’s http://www.nypost.com.

It’s called “Biden’s Bungles: A Blatant Bias.” It is not possible to refute what she says. It’s 100 percent true.

  7. SR

Jiminy speaks of researching multiple sources to get the truth. Who is this Jiminy you speak of???? Before he was reiterating just anything McCain spat out and ignored anything else. Interesting.

The media is a private business and they run themselves however they see fit. The press has become a reactionary media that waits for sensationalized stories that they can run with instead of “real” news.

The NY Times and the Washington Post are the two LARGEST papers in circulation and many other sources hate that. FOX News is a marketing gimick to spread a right wing agenda under the guise of being “fair and balanced” as opposed to the NYT. MSNBC is now a response to FOX News with an obvious Left tilt. CNN is just annoying.

The problem I have with the media, FOX News, NBC, whatever, is that the 24 hour news cycle has created such a competition for sensation news that they now drive the news agenda and blow things completely out of proportion.

How often do we see a little white girl get abducted and then are subjected to 24 news updates on little Kaylie etc…

The bias of a media is always perceived but what are you reading? The Op Ed section of the NYT is extremely Liberal but that is a result of circumstance because NY is largely Liberal. however the paper itself is routinely accepted as the best in the biz no matter how hard Fox News, the Weekly Standard, national Review etc try to demonize it. here’s a hint, you do not have to read the Op Ed.

This whole media conspiracy is really a blatant marketing gimick. If Fox News or MSNBC can sway viewers to think the “other guy” is corrupt and biased then they are more likely to tune in to you. Hannity and Limbaugh are the kings of this perception conspiracy. They have made careers out of demonizing other medias and people of right leaning persuasion fall in line.

It’s a fact that people enjoy hearing news that caters to their own opinions and personal beliefs. however that does not make the news source credible.

Unfortunately there is no alternative. A national news source with no bias is not only impossible but exceptionally dangerous. So we are stuck with a consumer driven news media. As long as Americans have no attention span, demand immediate satisfaction, and keep proving they are more interested in Tom Cruise’s baby or the health of Bragelina’s marriage then so called “real news” will never make the headlines.

  8. the consultant

yes indeed they will get a long deserved break in
the wilderness…but for Jiminy todays wall street
journal poll has sara palin being a bigger drag
on McCain than his connection to bush…34-22
guess that makes it clear she was indeed a bad choice
and silent majority is correct it is a stunning
    record of “achievement”

  9. Jiminy Cricket

Consultant…As Kirsten Powers, who is a Democrat, wrote in today’s NY Post (linked above), Biden himself is a huge drag. But he gets a pass from the biased press.

You also give Biden a pass. Which shows your own bias, which has been evident on this blog for at least six weeks.

  10. Sara R.

As bad as is the overt liberal bias in the mainstream media, arguably even worse is their delusional belief that they are objective. And characterizing them as delusional is giving them the benefit of the doubt over whether they’re just blatantly lying about their supposed objectivity, which some of them doubtless are.

  11. the consultant

Biden has his downside..but lack of experience isn’t one
of them…and as between Palin and Biden there is no
choice as far as I and 55% of all voters are concerned
and thats the way this race will play out..would that
John McCain had the guts to tell his handlers that
the VP choice was his alone to make

  12. SR

Biden gets a pass because his long term experience in the Senate, legal education, and foreign policy experience back up Obama’s own lack of long term experience and Biden comforts voters that if anything happened to Obama that things wouldn’t change much.

Palin has the opposite effect. All she did was shore up the base voters and make the centrists concerned if aything happened to McCain.

  13. Jiminy Cricket

Experience? Biden was against the first Gulf War, against the Surge, and wanted to divide Iraq into three countries. How do you think he did on those three biggies? He also is a proved plagarist and a loose-cannon windbag.

With “experience” like that on his resume’, you can have him. He’s a fool.

  14. smartporpoise

Any question that Obama and Biden, small-time champions of the “underprivileged,” will both be multi, multi-millionaires by 2015?

  15. the consultant

its all nullified by the mess W got us in in Iraq
and the economic meltdown…all of the rest is
backround noise as the general public could care
less about anything except gettng the government
to bail them out..now that they have bailed out
the banks..its about whats best for ”,me”

  16. Jiminy Cricket

The newest AP-GfK and IBD-TRIPP polls show the race is really tightening—to a virtual tie in the AP poll and about within the margin of error in IBD-TRIPP, which was right on the money in 2004. So don’t spin too hard for Obama and Biden. I know other polls have other results. But this one isn’t over yet.

By the way, Consultant, your “buddy” Zherka has filed another of his countless suits. This time he blames Westchester’s top cop, Thomas Belfiore, and apparently NYPD for starting the criminal investigation against him. He’s suing both Belfiore and New York City.

Zherka sounds unhinged. Didn’t he also claim it was you and Yonkers officials who started this Manhattan investigation, which is in the grand jury stage? Now he claims something else. Strip Club Zherka seems to be bouncing off walls.

Susan Tolchin blasted Zherka and his so-called lawyer Lovett right back in today’s Journal News. She mentioned Zherka is a “target” of that Manhattan grand jury.

Perhaps you seek for months the word “Fogey.” One G, one E. Good luck with this new information.

  20. SR

Well the Mitt Romney backed Greg Ball had the complaint dismissed today and I am glad that is over. The woman who raised that complaint is a known liar. Now Ball can win this election and run against Liebell next election.

Will he go to jail? Of course not. They never do..

  21. Murry

Ball running against Liebell in two years? Maybe Liebell is going to retire then the race will be wide open for grabs. Ball maybe try to run against John Hall but probably would not have the financial monies for that race.
John Hall we hear is well funded and very well liked.

  22. Zyskandar A. Jaimot

Heh DEMBHOLE REPREHENSUBKE HENRY’nose-hairs-down-to-your-armpits’WAXMANN – tell us sum more FREDDIE+FANNIE are not involved with this financial mess – all markets are down except the ‘deadbeat’ buyers+scammers get to stay in their just-bought-homes because of MARXIST MORONS such as youse!!!

  23. SR

Yeah Greg Ball probably has sights on the Congress. Perhaps maybe taking on Clinton?
