Savolt ticket flap makes MSNBC

Posted by: Liz Anderson - Posted in Kathy Savolt, Mamaroneck village on Oct 24, 2008

Mamaroneck Village Mayor Kathy Savolt’s run-in with a village police officer over a cell-phone ticket made the Keith Olbermann show on MSNBC last night, when Olbermann named Savolt one of his “best people in the world,” reporter Christine Pizzuti confirmed this morning.

As Pizzuti has been reporting (see stories here and here), Savolt says an officer ticketed her in March for driving while talking on a cell phone. When Savolt successfully got the original ticket dismissed, citing her role as a police commissioner and the emergency-responders exemption from the law, she says the irked officer showed up at her doorstep and re-wrote the ticket.

According to a producer for the show, Olbermann, in citing Savolt, said, “You may want
to watch Officer Petrillo real carefully.”

Thanks I got your web link. Does someone by chance have a backup mirror site or link to a different source? The weblink does not seem to work for me.
