Anti-gun groups back Oppenheimer, Stewart-Cousins

October
29

New Yorkers Against Gun Violence and GunFreeKids.org, are both expected to endorse democratic senators Suzi Oppenheimer and Andrea Stewart-Cousins in their re-election campaigns today.

Oppenheimer is running against Larchmont Republican mayor Liz Feld in the state’s 37th district and Stewart Cousins is running against Yonkers Republican councilman John Murtagh in the 35th district.

The anti-gun groups issued a joint statement about the two democratic candidates saying “For almost a decade, the leadership in the State Senate has blocked passage of common sense gun legislation. The success of these two re-election campaigns are a critical component to ensuring the Senate acts to pass important bills in the near future, including, micro-stamping and improved regulations on gun dealers.”

UPDATE: On an unrelated note, Liz Feld’s campaign today announced they have picked up the endorsement of Joseph Delfino, the Republican mayor of White Plains. Delfino is expected to give the endorsement at White Plains City Hall at noon on Thursday.

If you only “got it” and could see the depth of amusement this causes among pro-Second Amendment advocates and gun owners, then you would, perhaps, see your own blinders in greater definition.

So why not give it a go: call up Feld and ask her where she stands on the Second Amendment, the recent Heller decision in the US Supreme Court, and the citizen guarantee of the right to self-defense.

    What a chuckle!

Right! So NYAGV doesn’t endorse the organizer of their Million Moron March. Oh well, thank Eric Schneiderman for caring more about trying to get the Democrats in charge of the Senate than about his old friend Liz. What a riot!

what exactly DID Feld do in that march? She claims to have organized it but I cannot find any mention of her as an organizer. As far as I can tell- she just marched and not organized. Maybe made a couple of phone calls? No wonder the anti-gun groups endorse Oppenheimer.

Anti Gun = Pro Abortion = Anti Death Penalty. Seems like the only ones these people want dead are infants and taxpayers.

We need comprehensive gun legislation in New York State. Suzi wants to protect our kids by requiring guns to be locked up when they are not in use. Seems pretty logical to me! A parents right to keep their child safe trumps the right to own a semi-automatic weapon in my book EVERYDAY!!

Get the criminals off the streets! Too easy to get a gun around here, but the fact is: Take away their guns and they’ll stab you to death with your hedge clippers, or, if you can get them to the polls, simply maim you with the ignorance of their vote.

Hey madmom, turn off The View for a minute and open a book. New York already has the strictest gun control laws in the country. Nobody can even touch a handgun without a license. And the laws you whack jobs want to pass would make an honest citizen a criminal because somebody stole and misused his pistol. No wonder the Democrat party won’t talk about gun control, at least in public, any more.
