Does anyone really believe this? Sure he can raise money, but he probably did the math and realizes that he does not have the votes. I am not being racist, but look at the demographics. Why would he leave the Assembly majority to run for the Senate minority in 2004? He was pushed out of his Bronx Assembly seat so that a Hispanic woman could run that was more in line with the population of the district (she also happened to be the daughter of the Bronx Democratic Chairman Jose Rivera). The Assembly is already led by a Jewish white male. You figure out the rest of the equation…

to that kind of stealing by state and local government

The Politicians are out of control too. They are members of the NY Retirement system and only need five years to be vested. They get outstanding health insurance/dental ins. Only work three days a week for 6 months. Make minimum salary of 79,500. they are scamming the system more than the teachers.

hey…the teachers union and others completely control
albany…the teachers get health care benefits for life
the police and fire unions get to stuff overtime into
their last three years to make their pensions twice as
much as they would be under normal circumstances…
they are all stealing and you are paying..not me
i dont pay property taxes anymore..but i know theft
when i see it

Does this “reform” include dumping Silver and loosening the stranglehold the unions have on Albany? No. What possible “reform” could either Klein or Smith effect other than to raise taxes even higher than they are and drive everyone who keeps this State afloat out of NY State until they create an East St. Louis which will eventually declare bankruptcy?

Klein would end hope for reform in Albany.Yesterdays stories on Smiths intent to bring major change to how the Stare Senate is run is not new-hes been saying what was reported in the NY Times since day one. If Patterson does anything to encourage Kleins takeover, David will lose tremendous support among reformers in 2010.

Klein saying the right things today, if the dem’s take control of the Senate, there will be an internal war. Maybe there will be a dem or two who will cut a deal with the rep’s and the rep’s will maintain control of the Senate. There are some dem’s who have been screwed by there own party and may be thinking of jumping ship for the right deal. There is much more to come.
