Obama Wins New York

Barack Obama wins Michigan, New York, Rhode Island, Wisconsin.

John McCain wins Wyoming and North Dakota, CNN projects.

NBC says Obama has 175 electoral votes, McCain has 70 as the race to 270 electoral votes continues.

A Siena College poll late last month had Obama with a huge 31 percentage point lead in New York over John McCain.

Over the summer, Siena had the race tightened to just five points, which raised eyebrows in the heavily blue state and has been used as evidence by critics of Siena that its polls can be skewed.

Democrats and Republicans in New York have said that turnout is strong in all parts of the state, so trying to gauge how it will break for their Senate candidates remains difficult.
