Smith Says History Has Been Made
Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith offered this statement on Democrats winning control of the state Senate:
“Today, New Yorkers made history, electing a Democratic Majority to the State Senate for the first time in nearly 40 years. Today, change begins.
“There is much at stake for New York families and we are committed to delivering for the people of this great state without the excessive partisanship that has stalled progress in Albany. We will rebuild New York’s economy, protect middle income families, get New York working again, and make government more accountable.”

This is the guy who, this past summer, told a large group of Albany lobbyists to pony up, dump their money in the Dem pot, and treat it “like an IPO” because once the Democrats took power in November, any of them who didn’t would not be allowed to “play.” This man is about to become Majority Leader of the Senate. And that’s the name of THAT tune. This is where we are, class.
