There’s an old (true) story about a big-time sports reporter for a large newspaper who was sent to cover the Super Bowl and put in his expense account reimbursement request, $75 for a Dallas Cowboy hat. When the request for reimbursement was denied, in the next month’s expenses list that he sent in for reimbursement, he wrote: “The hat’s in there somewhere. See if you can find it.”

don’t you think that senior members of the spano administration in light of the existing financial meltdown
would be willing to forego a raise until the coast is cleared. the 2009 budget with its less than 3% tax increase
is simply a ruse to get spano through the election ….then
in his last term he can raise taxes 18%
