Hassell-Thompson also blasts process

Posted by: Jay Gallagher - Posted in Uncategorized, White House on Dec 03, 2008

Sen.  Ruth Hassell-Thompson, D-Mt. Vernon, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today joined critics of the Court of Appeals judge-selection process.

“While not impeaching the qualifications of those on the list, I find it incomprehensible that of a single woman, nor a single Latino candidate appears on the list,’’ she said today. “This committee failed to meet the standards of our great diverse state when it released such a limited list of qualified candidates. Therefore I strongly suggest the committee’s processes should be revisited.’’

The most notable omission from the list was Court of Appeals Judge Carmen Ciparick, who is Hispanic. some observers pointed out she is 66, meaning she could hold the top job for only four years because of the retire-at-70 rule.

Hassell-Thompson is, for those of us who enjoyed “The Wire”—Clay Davis.

She doesn’t want “disclosure” of other income.

    She is hostile to everyone.

    MLK didn’t die for HER.

“The ranking member of the…Judiciary Committee.” That says it all about where our State is and where it is going. Never trust anyone with a hyphenated, or a two- word last name.

She is a truly ignorant person.

And hostile to those not-of-color. A bigot.
