Cuomo Mum On Senate Seat

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on Dec 11, 2008

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said little today about potentially being picked by Governor Paterson to succeed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the U.S. Senate.

In fact, he argued that his conversations between he and Paterson were privileged, since the AG is the governor’s attorney.

“The conversations between the governor and myself are private,” he told reporters today after announcing a proposal to consolidate state governments. “Why? Because I’m the attorney general. We have an attorney-client relationship.”

Cuomo, who is considered a leading Senate candidate, was asked repeatedly whether he’s interested in the job. But he deflected each question, refusing to say whether he’s spoken to Paterson about his interest—or even if he doesn’t want the job.

He said it would be presumptuous to talk about whether he’s interested.

“My position is that I have a job. I’m the attorney general of the state of New York,” he said. “I have my hands full doing it. I enjoy doing it.”

Asked if he believes Caroline Kennedy, who is also considered a candidate, is qualified for the job, he said “I’ve known Caroline for years. I have a high opinion of her. But that’s going to up for the governor.”

And asked about rumors that the Kennedys have put forth Caroline to thwart Paterson naming Cuomo, the attorney general responded, “No. I haven’t heard that either.”

Cuomo is divorced from Kerry Kennedy, Caroline’s cousin and daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who held the senate seat when he was assassinated in 1968.

Attorney-client relationship. What an ass. It was only a matter of time ‘til this BS artist buffoon took a crap in his cage.

he really is just like his arrogant dad ..there is no
attorney client relationship unless you are discussing
the facts of a particular case.if he is discussing whether
or not he is going to be senator it has nothing to do
with his roll as the state AG….can he really be that
    stupid

Just the fact that he comes out with something so inane as this leads one to believe he’s somewhat nervous about Chicago, and has been finagling and making political, and maybe financial, promises and he wonders who has been listening-in or who might blab.

CUOMO IS A JERK…let me tell you about a conversation I
had with his “liberal” i am for the people dad..when he
was lt governor…i was a registered lobbyist seeking
initiative referendum and recall in new york..we brought
in howard jarvis from cal….and got a meeting with the
then lt gov…we presented our case and mario said
to me first…i see you ran for congress….good race
and then he said..’THE PEOPLE DON’T KNOW WHATS BEST
FOR THEM” WE CAN’T GIVE THEM THE RIGHT TO PUT BALLOT
INITIATIVES ON BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING”...AND THERE YOU HAVE IT….THE LIBERAL
I AM FOR THE COMMON PEOPLE..BUT ON THE OTHER HAND
I KNOW BEST WHAT IS GOOD FOR THEM

That is a perfect example of what Papa and Sonny Cuomo are about, and that also holds for the likes of Al Bore, Obama, and the rest of the limo liberals. You can put Andy Spano and his gang in there, too.

The “Sonny and Pere” show. Thought they cancelled that chestnut. We had our fils of it.

Cuomo was a “non-practicing attorney” prior to his election as AG so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he is unfamiliar with attorney-client privilege 101. It is just disappointing that he won a crowded primary and beat a well-regarded AG in the general election based on name recognition and connections.

  9. the consultant

who was the well regarded AG that he beat in the general
    election?
