Tax, Tax, Tax
Governor Paterson’s budget includes 88 new taxes and fees, on everything from going to the movies, getting a haircut and smoking cigars.
Here’s some of them:
—Personal services, such as going to salons, getting a haircut and a manicure, will be subject to sales tax.
—Sales taxes would be extended to entertainment-related items, such as movie tickets and sporting events.
—Sales taxes would also be imposed on travel by taxi, limousine and buses.
—Repeal of the sales tax cap on fuel, which the state has limited to 8 eight cents per gallon.
—Extend sales tax to cable and satellite television and radio.
—Impose a 50 cents tax on the sale of a cigar.
—Increase the tax on flavored malt beverages.
—Imposing an additional 5 percent tax on the price of luxury cars, yachts, and expensive jewelery.
—Increase beer and wine tax rates from 11 cents per gallon to 24 cents per gallon.
—Increase the auto rental tax from 5 percent to 6 percent.

SO IF YOU ARE BUYING A 100,000 MERCEDES YOU HAVE TO PAY AN
ADDITIONAL 5%. IN NEW YORK..THAT SHOULD KILL OFF THE CAR
BUSINESS WHEN EVERYONE DRIVES TO GREENWHICH OR NJ TO SAVE
THE 5000…DOES PATTRSON THINK THAT PEOPLE ARE SIMPLY GOING
TO THROW MONEY AWAY
Those bear taxes are a beer.
Whereever you buy your car you pay taxes on where you live.
Not if you have a business out of state or a residence
and register it there..or a second home
Consultant, people who fall into that situation would do that anyway. It doesn’t make a differance what Patterson does. So what is your point.
You wouldn’t understand. Let it be. It’s easier on you that way.
no your right..people will just continue to exit the
state…leaving you and yours behind to pay the taxes
that you say don’t matter
