Listen to Caroline speak. Unless she has a well written prepared speech to read and rely on, she is a terrible speaker. Her favorite words are 'you know.' She says that over and over again. She needs to take a class on public speaking.
There must be many qualified NYers that could do this job. Why do we need a Kennedy name?

If Mrs. CAROLINE KENNEDY employed her married name of SCHLOSSBERG - would she still achieve the same desultory poll rating of 25% with NYers??? BUT THEN AGAIN WHAT'S IN A NAME??? But then again only the SCHLOSSBERG side of her didn't vote on all those elections - not the 'sacred' KENNEDY side!!! Ha.

What did they think a "national poll" would produce other than a feel-good, JFK, RFK were good- guys result? A waste of time and effort, like the magazine that, hoping to create controversy and increase circulation, ridiculously ranked NY State Colleges above Yale. We truly live in an age of misrepresentation and cynical chicanery in every livelihood, from journalism to politics. We should print on our newspapers, periodicals, and on our currency: Caveat Emptor.

Why even bother running a national poll when non-New Yorkers would be unfamiliar with the names of the excellent people who should get that appointment instead of Caroline?

And why run a poll like that when this appointment is nobody's business unless they live in New York? Why should outsiders be allowed to muscle in on the choice of the person who will be New York's voice in the Senate. That's why we don't elect our Senators at large -- because they belong to us, and only to us.
