Clinton confirmation hearing Tuesday

January
7

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Tuesday for a hearing on her nomination to serve as the Obama administration’s secretary of State.

Clinton will be introduced by New York colleague Sen. Chuck Schumer.

Schumer also will introduce two other New Yorkers who have been nominated for Cabinet posts at their confirmation hearings next week.

Schumer will introduce Timothy Geithner, the nominee for Treasury secretary, at his hearing on Thursday, Jan. 15 before the Senate Finance Committee. Geithner, a resident of Mamaroneck, currently serves as chairman of the New York Federal Reserve.

And Schumer will introduce Shaun Donovan, the nominee for secretary of Housing and Urban Development, as his hearing the same day as Clinton’s. Donovan currently serves as New York City Housing Commissioner.

No date has been set for a Senate vote on the nominees, but it’s possible that those nominees who are non-controversial will be confirmed by voice vote on Jan. 20 within a few hours after President-elect Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States.

Meanwhile, Hillary hasn’t done a lick of work for NY, and refuses to relinquish her seat until she’s sure of confirmation. Never know what starling revelations might come out in the next two weeks about old Bill “depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is” Clinton.

for all these people that we pay to work for us when all they do is campaign. It’s actually a big list.
