Paterson To Senecas: Let’s Talk

January
14

Governor Paterson today said he’d like to sit down and talk with the Seneca Indian Nation before they make good on their threats to start charging their own tolls on a stretch of the Thruway in western New York.

The Senecas are making the threat to protest Paterson’s plan to collect taxes on the sale of cigarettes on Indian reservations.

“I would like to sit down and talk to them,” he said.

Oh, and an opportunity to raise the tax on tires that the “indians” will be burning en masse on the thruway.
