Bloomberg Takes Issue With Gillibrand On Gun Record
Indicative of the problems newly-appointed Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand with have with the gun-control ad
vocates, comes this statement from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg:
“As I have said, the governor had a large field of qualified candidates to choose from. In his selection of Congresswoman Gillibrand, he has chosen a committed member of the House of Representatives from upstate New York. Our Administration has worked well with her and her staff on a number of issues, including watershed protection.
“However, I have a strong disagreement with one area of her record as a member of Congress: illegal guns. She has actively opposed the efforts of New York City, and cities around the state and nation, to enact commonsense measures that keep illegal guns out of the hands of criminals. For instance, she has co-sponsored legislation to deny key data cities and police need to track illegal gun criminals, as well as to tie the hands of the ATF and to protect dealers who sell guns illegally.
“Now, as she begins representing the whole state, I look forward to working with her to help her gain a broader understanding of the problems affecting New York City so she can be an effective advocate for all New Yorkers.”

the appointment is a fiasco for the governor..he has
alienated the kennedy’s the cuomo’s most of his
party, and the mayor of the city of new york…the issue
of gun control is key for democrats….republicans are
not going to vote for david patterson…and democrats
outnumber republicans 5-3 in the state. so having never run
before statewide patterson should have united his base
around a non controversial liberal senatorial nominee rather
than picking a person who divides his base…this definitely
means gillibrand will have a primary and it may mean
that the governors popularity within his party
tanks making a primary more likely for him in 2010
either way its a mess
You know what Consultant,
Even though I am a conservative republican, I think Gov. Patterson has been honestly trying to do what is the BEST for New York State. He reminds me a bit of Lieberman and I don’t think Republicans are going to hold their votes from Patterson over his appointment of Gillibrand-rather, the moderates and even some conservatives may vote for him over what the Republican party has to offer in 2010. Yes, the NYC liberals have their knickers in a twist – but perhaps this is the time they lose some of their sway in Albany, which I think the rest of New York state has been trying to say for a while now. IMHO
Paterson is trying, all right. About as trying as you can get. How do you spell impotent?
Patterson is a nice man…well intentioned..but by
nature not an executive..ie not a decision maker…
he labors over each and every minor detail..ie he
is anal not global…people close to him say is completely
unable to reach a decision in any reasonable time frame
rudy will clean his clock…and remember Patterson was
never elected to be the leader of the state ..he was a minor
state senator who was selected by spitzer because he was
non controverial..and even he was not spitzers first
choice
I have an idea for Basil’s son – Get hold of Larry David and do a Seinfeld-ish sitcom about a blind black governor who can’t accomplish anything, but has a few good jokes at hand. He could be being pressured to appoint a 101 year old Brooke Astor, Madonna, or Lucille Ball to the Senate. “The Accidental Governor” is just too good a title to resist. This is not as crazy as it sounds, but you might need a black Peter Sellers to play the title role.
Okay, I’m an optimist and I still believe Gov. Patterson is trying to do what is best for New York State-also, he may believe that his term as governor is short lived, but rather than sticking it to us, he is actually working (even if not up to some people’s standards).
Rudy Giuliani will clean his clock.if in fact he
holds on to his own parties nomination..and moderate
republicans will be back in business in new york
here is sam zherka admitting the only reason he sued
the constulant is because he consulted with the mayor
of yonkers and the da…..ie he sued for poltical reasons
Mike Medelman the reason why this low life political hack prosecutor, Matthew Bogdanos in manhattan started the bogus investigation is plain and simple, “CONTENT BASED RETALIATION” which is a Civil Rights Violation and is acitonable for damages.
Mike Edelman, Janet Difiore, Matthew Bogdanos, Phil Amicone and others have participated in Ethnic Profiling.
The Fact that im of Albanian origin, they assumed i have to be a criminal and shot from the hip with out doing any home work, assuming that Sam Zherka must be involved in crime, they started this bogus Grand Jury investigation with no grand Jury in place which is illegal all in retaliation for the Guardians truthful articles.
As the saying goes “the truth hearts”
Now they are all stuck. The investigation will net them nothing more than black eyes and losses in Federal Court and possible losses of their law degrees. At the end of the day the tax payers will pay alof of money for what they have all participated in and Mike Edelman will have to pull out his check book.
Sam Zherka has lived through and witnessed first hand what minorities have gone through in this country for doing nothing more than exercising his First Amendment protected activity of Free Speech.
Janet Difiore in a phone call to Sam Zherka, threatend him because of an article was written about her husband, Dennis Glazer, a partner at the Law Firm Davis Polk and Wardwell. Dennis Glazer was mentioned in more than one article in several publications to have participated in attempted bribery in order to secure the election for his corrupt wife and current D.A Janet Difiore.
In the phone call Janet Difiore says the following
“HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF SOME ONE CAME AFTER YOUR FAMILY”
“I KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME”
“I WANT A COMPLETE RETRACTION AND NOTHING ELSE”
Well guess what, the Westchester Guardian never gave her the retraction.
So when Mike Medelman says why this corrupt friend of Janet Difiore and his who works in the Manhattan D.A’s office started this bogus investigation, its simple, its the Game Janet said she knew how to play in the phone call made to Sam Zherka.
Mike Edelman was the consultant of Janet Difiore and Phil Amicone and thats why he installed himself into this mess.
Mike Edelman reiterated all those content based, ethnically motivated, vitriolic, slanderous and defamatory postings on these blogs. (ALL FIRST AMENDMENT RETALIATION)
I will prove Janet Difiore is corrupt to the people of Westchester in good time.
I promise that the people will hear Janets threats in her own words and voice.
The day of reckoning is coming to a theatre near your.
Janet is scheduled to be deposed on Feb. 11th by attorney Jonathan Lovett. That will be the day when we will test her honesty and perhaps prove that she is lying under
oath.
The entire deposition will be video and audio taped so that at the end of the case the public will eventually see that Janet Difiore is a corrupt liar.
At the end of the case Sam Zherka will purchase TV commercials and play the Video and Audio tapes to the public to introduce the real Janet Difiore.
WOULD REAL JANET DIFIORE PLEASE STAND UP”

The libs will bury Gillibrand in a Democrat Primary. Paterson should have gone with Cuomo. He has left himself very vulnerable.
