Race For Gillibrand’s Seat Underway

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on Jan 23, 2009

The battle to replace Kirsten Gillibrand in the U.S. House is already underway.

Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco, R-Schenectady, said on Fred Dicker’s radio show this morning that he’s already contacted all 10 GOP chairmen in the district and has the endorsement of Saratoga County.

“I always love the fast break,” said Tedisco, a former basketball star at Union College. “I can start a fast break and finish a fast break.”

Other GOP candidates in the mix may include former gubernatorial candidate John Faso, Sen. Betty Little and former state GOP chairman Sandy Treadwell, who lost to Gillibrand last year.

On the Democratic side, Carol Schrager, an attorney from Hunter, Greene County, announced her candidacy.

“The 20th Congressional District needs and deserves a powerful voice in Washington,” she said. “Especially in these extremely difficult economic times, our District needs a representative who will fight for our working families and small businesses to create jobs, to develop our economy and to provide a better future for our children.”

Betty Little would be a horrible Congresswoman. She is the reason why the GOP lost the senate. Her taxing and spending at any cost to stay in power is the last thing we need in Washington.

Little is more liberal than Gillibrand. Betty Little voted for the crossdresser’s rights act—SONDA and is backed by the Log Cabin Republicans. Little also hiked taxes in NY by $15 billion.

Faso would be another terrible choice. He’s a two-time loser who couldn’t even win one county in the 20th congressional district.

Trust Fund Treadwell should just stay up at his Adirondack estate and count his money. He blew $6 million against Gillibrand and could only muster 37 percent of the vote—pathetic.
