The Ballot line for the CP would NOT be lost even if they ran "Mickey Mouse" for Governor.

Regarding Rudy running for Governor.

Rudy is still in the hole for 2 million bucks for the "Joke" of a campaign he ran as President (All 1 percent received)

Thus that is why he keeps his name in the papers which is to help his company which I heard has laid off half of its staff.

Judy will not let him run and finally,........Rudy would NEVER stay at Red Roof Inns across this State during the course of the summer which one has to do to run for Statewide Office. Live in hotels for months at a time, 5 days a week. Rudy will not do that!

The few remaining elected NY Republicans' major problem is that they don't appear to consistently stand for anything. They are reactionary and they have folded to special interests. Every once in a while, they speak up on an important issue, but they end up sounding like simple obstructionists and not statesmen. They should have been, and should be, in the forefront of criticizing - and advocating justice for all the thieves in banking and finance. They should be in the forefront of getting a handle on municipal and school unions. They should advocate reconstruction of the prison system. They should be forceful in doing something about state and local taxes. They seem, even when in power, to be interested only in maintaining the status- quo The public doesn't know where they stand and they have managed to make themselves irrelevant.

Below taken in part from George J. Marlin's story which appeared in Long Island Business News yesterday.

"I do not make this suggestion for partisan advantage. At this point, most observers expect any credible Democrat who faces Paterson to prevail in a primary. After that I expect nearly any credible Democrat to beat the candidate of the somnolent Republican Party in November 2010. So dire is the GOP’s situation that many observers believe that the state Conservative Party is likely to field an independent slate of statewide candidates."

RE: They will not risk nomating some bozo who can’t draw 50k voters (i.e. Marilyn O’Grady) and losing their ballot status a la the liberal party. (Because Cuomo left the race altogether that year)

Marilyn O’Grady FYI....Drew over 270,000 votes (Give or take).
Herb London running for Governor came within 20,000 votes from overtaken the Republican Party Candidate and Row B for that matter. I can go on and on with these numbers.

It is a known fact that when the Conservative Party runs their own slate of canddiates they draw much more on the numbers then when they share the line with the GOP. Serious discussion has been made on this matter already.

Since the GOP has now lost the Senate, the Conservative Troops could possibly now want run their own slate.

At the Jim Tedisco fundraiser last night (with Rudy) it was pretty clear that he was running. The conservative party will get fall into line. They will not risk nomating some bozo who can't draw 50k voters (i.e. Marilyn O'Grady) and losing their ballot status a la the liberal party.

Rudy will NOT run for Governor.

Just as Rudy was NOT going to be President.

Remember who swore that was going to be President?

And the Conservative Party is here to stay, so like it or not (Like other things in life) One must deal with it. Period.

The reason ny republicans have screwed themselves up
is because they have allowed mike long and the
conservative party to hijack their nomination process..
if you are not pro life mike long won't support
you for national office...and for statewide
office as well...the right to life party now basically
extinct, started the ball rolling.....with its endorsement
of d'amato and vacco....the conservative party should
be about smaller government and less spending, and
lower taxes, not about abortion or what goes on in
someones bedroom..but the conservative party and
mike long...in particular don't seem to get it..
Rudy on the other hand does, and he will run without
the conservative parties help....maybe they will
get less than 50,0000 and disappear...that would be
the healthiest thing for the ny republican party
remember only 5 states allow cross endorsement...
and where republicans win in industrial states
other than new york there is no conservative party

The NY GOP has been Selling out on Social Issues and the 2nd Admendment Issues to upstaters.

The NY GOP has Raised and signed off on TAXES AND TAXES AND TAXES for year after year with Bruno and the rest of the cowards.

Thus the recent lost of the GOP ASenate for LIFE!

The GOP is broke and fed up within Party by the grassroots upstate. Great Job NY GOP!

Oh, Did I remind you that the New York State Conservative Party will NOT back Rudy?

The Conservative Party will run thier own slate if the GOP does Rudy. (Thus no election of a Republican for Gov).

Trust me, NO RUDY, just soundbites for his business float.

Spoke to the players (Those looking to run Statewide in Albany) at CPAC about three weeks ago. For three days we spoke.

Rudy was not even on their minds as running.

The flight path is wide open and clear. All are just waiting for Paterson to bail out or stay in. Rudy floats his name for business purposes only.

I think that just about says it all. His only hope was to cast his fate to the winds, act on conscience, state the dire facts vociferously, and go directly to the people. Even that may be too late. Playing footsie with Silver and the unions is the inevitable kiss of death because he might still lose the nomination to Cuomo, and even if he didn't, he will surely be swamped by Rudy when the whole fiscal fiasco he is in the center of (union bowing, more and more taxes) becomes clear to Joe public. If he is vulnerable, no matter how accommodating he is, Silver et al will drop him like a bad habit in favor of Cuomo to save the Democratic governorship. As a Senator, he could make a speech or two in favor of more profligate spending, and join everyone for a leisurely joke-filed lunch and count on re-election ad eternum. As you say, he's been thrust into the Executive and he's baffled by the complications.

I think that just about says it all. His only hope was to cast his fate to the winds, act on conscience, state the dire facts vociferously, and go directly to the people. Even that may be too late. Playing footsie with Silver and the unions is the inevitable kiss of death because he might still lose the nomination to Cuomo, and even if he didn’t, he will surely be swamped by Rudy when the whole fiscal fiasco he is in the center of (union bowing, more and more taxes) becomes clear to Joe public. If he is vulnerable, no matter how accommodating he is, Silver et al will drop him like a bad habit in favor of Cuomo to save the Democratic governorship. As a Senator, he could make a speech or two in favor of more profligate spending, and join everyone for a leisurely joke-filed lunch and count on re-election ad eternum.
democrats have to be very very worried by this development
although eliot spitzer romped to a huge election victory
his successor was not elected to the office ...Patterson
had demonstrated that he is ill suited for an executive
job. As a former state senator he worked in a legislative
capacity where leadership skills and decision making were
not particulary necessary..However as Governor the job specs
changed...Patterson is a nice guy..too nice...his problem
is that in his effort to be a maleable kind of guy ...the
last person that speaks to him at night so to speak has
the greatest influence on his thinking...Coupled with
the obvious fact that the state is in the midst of the
worse financial crisis since the depression, and Patterson
if he were to truly discharge his responsiblities as the
chief executive would have to extract concessions from
the unions and from state workers, which he is loath to
do in light of his need for their support and money for
his 2010 election bid, the guy just can't seem to make
a decision. His pick for senator offended just about
every democratic power base in the state, and it
was totally unnecessary. So now his own party is rejecting
him..and it can only get worse as election gets closer
Patterson is now getting soundly thumped by Rudy who
hasn't even announced yet...and in a primary he looses
badly to andy cuomo...who by the way has in fact been
elected statewide unlike the governor and who has an
effective campaign in place with fundraising ability
far in excess of pattersons...so the democrats need
to worry...they may be in the process of giving
the state back to a repubican governor.....and
they have only themselves to blame
