NY congressional race helps GOP head duck tough question
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele used the campaign for the 20th
Congressional District seat in the Hudson valley today to help parry an awkward question during a nationally televised interview this morning.
“I’m focusing on things like the race in the 20th District in New York,’’ Steele told “Today” host Matt Lauer, who asked him whether he like conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh hoped that President Obama’s attempts to revive the economy would fail.
The question put Steele, who earlier this week apologized to Limbaugh for calling him an “entertainer,’’ in a tough spot. If he said he agreed, he would be pilloried for rooting against the economic prospects of the country. But if he disagreed, he would risk picking another fight with the popular radio personality, who has millions of daily listeners. So he did neither.
The 20th District race will pick a successor to Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who resigned from the House to take HIllary Clinton’s Senate seat when Obama named the former First Lady to be secretary of state.
A win by Republican Jim Tedisco in the sprawling district, which stretches along the valley from Lake Placid to Dutchess County and then west to Cooperstown, would be a big psychological boost for the Republicans, who have lost more than 40 seats in the last two elections. The district has a wide GOP enrollment edge.
Tedisco, the Assembly minority leader, is being opposed by Democratic businessman Scott Murphy of Glens Falls. Election day is March 31.

In fairness, Limbaugh and those of his ilk, wish this new SOCIALISM to fail, not attempts at reviving the economy. Unfortunately, some people would rather play at semantics than address the issue.
RE: State of the NY GOP
The State Republicans lost the Senate because of many, many reasons ….Three reasons stand out…......
The New York Republican Senators ALL had …...
“Albany Tunnel Vision”...
“Albany Tunnel Vision”...
“Albany Tunnel Vision”...
Blinded by the light of their “Own Little World” and living their clueless Albany Life styles day in and day out…...
The GOP Senate had the “We know best attitudes” &
“Lets ignore the warnings from the outsiders” ......
I and many more saw the train wreck coming.
Of course, we know that the State Party committed themselves too NO efforts in keeping people actively involved with the Party,
They failed in recruitment of younger activists and in keeping their Grassroots involved with the GOP Party back in their home districts.
The NY GOP Senate became “Morally and Fiscally Bankrupt” to their voting base!
The (NY GOP Senate).....
Signed off on “Liberal Bills” such as SONDRA, Anti-Life measurers, Anti 2nd Amendment Issues and of course they
TAX & SPEND, TAX & SPEND, TAX & SPEND, TAX & SPEND,
to much disgust of their district voters who were back home paying the tax bills coming from Albany.
(Why to save a Spano seat in Westchester?)
To this end…...
The NY GOP Senate followed their clueless leader Joe Bruno and his Failing Consultants to the Slaughter House!
“Political Clueless Hacks” who never held a real jobs in their lives or dealt with every day problems of the voting base ran the GOP operations. “Cronies” who never left Albany for many years were the operatives. Joe Bruno was more interested in ball parks being named after himself and having “Bobble Head Figurines” made in his image then thinking outside the box as a leader should do.
I had the pleasure of visiting the GOP Leaders all across the State for 18 months as I worked on the last Statewide race. They were all good people who were telling me that their flock were leaving the herd because of the Albany Tunnel Vision Syndrome.
I saw desperation within the rank and file.
If I saw the disasters written on the wall across the State why not the rest of the Party Leadership?
If I saw floating deck chairs of the Titanic across the State why did no one else react?
Regarding Senator Libous
(Who was put in charge of getting Senate Seats Back)...
I have met him a number of times including at his summer event in Binghamton. I believe the Senator (If he chooses the right people and NOT the Poetical Hacks & Hoes )
will have a small shot, one last shot at that, of doing good for the Party
.....IF…....
A strong Candidate for GOP Governor is at the top of the ticket.
At the end if the day though,
I really believe Gov. Paterson is appointed as Ambassador to some small unknown country by Obama so as Mr. Paterson can run away from the Albany budget mess…..
Andrew Cuomo then becomes a candidate for Governor.
Which means…...... the NY Senate is forever in the hands of the Dummycrats…......The NY GOP goes away forever as New York State officially becomes a …...”Banana Republic”......
Like Massachusetts…...One Party rule.
Great job NY GOP!
Jim Kelly – NY Conservative Campaigns
BTW…We (GOP) win this seat….
But lose it in 2010 as it gets cut into Albany with redistricting to take place that year.
