Quest for an honest politician

Posted by: Jay Gallagher - Posted in Uncategorized on Mar 18, 2009

A Senate committee meeting was momentatily interrupted today when the ancient Greek philospher Diogenes entered the room.

Diogenes, dressed in a scragly robe and sporting an unkempt long white beard, also carried a lantern. He told lawmakers he was “looking for an honest politician.’’

The senators refused his request to ask questions, told him to be careful with the open flame he carried, and were relieved when he walked out.

Inside the Diogenes costume was comedian Randy Credico, who roamed around the Capitol this monring in the outfit of Diogenes, known in ancient time for his quest for “an honest man’’ who made a virtue out of his poverty.

The real Diogenes wouldn’t have wasted his time going anywhere near Albany. He’d have better odds at Sing Sing.
