Another anti-Paterson broadside coming from unions

Posted by: Jay Gallagher - Posted in Uncategorized on Apr 17, 2009

There is another broadside of anti-Gov. Paterson ads about to be launched by public-employee unions. They focus on workers who care for developmentally disabled clients and they claim the workers are already required to work overtime to cover all the shifts.  The takeaway message: “Stop playing with people’s lives.’’ The ads are set to begin airing across the state Monday.

Not mentioned is that Paterson offered no layoffs if the state workers would forego a 3 percent raise that went into effect April 1 and defer a week’s pay until they left state service.

The unions also plan to picket Paterson when he addresses a meeting of the Rural Democratic Caucus in Saratoga Springs later today.

Here are the links to the ads:

This befuddled gov reminds me of old Mizz Lillian’s comment, mother of President Carter, who said about her son, “I don’t know why everyone’s picking on Jimmy. He’s never done anything.”
