Staff Changes For Paterson

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on May 28, 2009

Several staff changes today in the Paterson administration.

Paterson announced that Insurance Department Superintendent Eric Dinallo will resign in July to become a visiting professor of finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Dinallo came in with the Spitzer administration and worked with Spitzer in the attorney general’s office.

He’s rumored to be eyeing a run for attorney general if Andrew Cuomo decides to run for governor.

Also reportedly leaving the second floor is press secretary Errol Cockfield, a former Newsday bureau chief who also came in under Spitzer. He’s expected to move over to the governor’s intergovernmental affairs office.

And coming into the governor’s office is Robert Megna as budget director. He takes the $178,000-a-year job from Laura Anglin, who is resigning to head the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities.

Megna had been commissioner of the state Department of Taxation and Finance. Jamie Woodward was named acting commissioner of the department; she had been executive deputy commissioner.

The man has, and continues to have, a staff infection.

Richard Brodsky will be the next Attorney General is Cuomo moves on.

so how many downstaters do you want making the calls
in albany…spitzer, patterson, dinapoli, cuomo and
now brodsky?..never gonna happen..they will pick a female

  4. rj

I think Assemblyman Brodsky is well positioned to become our next Attorney General. He has the right personality for the job and he is well prepared to serve in this job. You say they will select a woman, why? Gender is not always the answer, look at Gillibrand. Assemblyman Brodsky’s extensive knowledge of N.Y. State and its laws make him the perfect fit for this job. I respectfully disagree with the Consultant, gender is not an issue and what part of the state you live also does not matter. I want the best person for the job.

Tom suozzi has the temperment, the statewide exposure and
the statewide support to be the democratic nominee for
ag if cuomo runs for governor..brodsky has offended too
many people over the years and is viewed as a hothead

Mr. Consultant you are interesting, you go from stating they will pick a woman and how many down staters do they need to saying Suozzi is the person for the job who is a male and from LI. I disagree with you about Assemblyman Brodsky being viewed as a “Hothead”. Mr. Brodsky is viewed as a tenuous individual who fights for the rights of the average hard working man and woman. Mr. Brodsky is known as a guy that you go to when you want action and not just words, Mr. Brodsky is passionate about the people of NYS and the people in his district. Please do not confuse Mr. Brodsky’s determination and love of his job for nothing other then what it is.

MR BRODSKY WILL NEVER GET THE AG NOMINATION…TAKE IT TO THE BANK

  8. rj

Is that wishful thinking on your part? Don’t underestimate the support of Assemblyman Richard Brodsky.

  9. Evaluation

He managed to foul up the Yankee Stadium “investigation,” letting a couple of double-talking Yankee front office guys away with multiple millions and little or no public humiliation. This is not the first time for a lot of talk and a quick exit. Hardly a Cuomo move. In his defense, maybe he didn’t have the $ or staff to do it right. In any event, he ended up with egg on his face.

No egg on his face as you say, the fact that he had the courage to surface the issue speaks in volume about his desire to protect the people of NYS.
