Schorr trolls for campaign bucks in DC and Yonkers

June
23

Republican candidate for District Attorney Dan Schorr is going far and wide to raise money for his battle with incumbent Janet DiFiore, a one-time Republican who is now a Democrat. Starting tonight he’s got a couple of fund-raisers at contrasting venues.

Schorr looks for campaign money tonight in Washington, D.C., with an event at Lounge 201, a tavern that bills itself as “Cool. Comfortable. Close by,” which is true if you’re at a Senate office building or Union Station. By the way, 201 Lounge offers a seemingly Soviet-inspired drink called “Hammer & Sickle” for $7.00 on Thursday nights.

Then on July 22, Schorr is in Yonkers at a fundraiser with Republican guest speakers, state Sen. Dean Skelos and Mayor Phil Amicone. That event is at La Lanterna Ristorante and Caffe, which describes itself as “Yonkers best kept-secret” with “cutting-edge desserts.” It’s down-home Yonkers, with a website that serenades you with Dean Martin singing “That’s Amore.”

mr schorr needs to explain his statement on a wvox
radio show that he would accept an endorsement from
sam zherka who he knows is under criminal investigation
in manhattan a sister district attorney’s office..

“Hammer and Sickle” sounds like a socialist law firm. The firm “Bait and Switch” represents DiFiore, the Spano brothers, and Pedro Espada. If ex-Steelers Mean Joe Green and Jack Ham joined with Malcolm X, their law firm would be “Green, X, and Ham.”

very funny ed1 but hat is the reason that a candidate for DA in westchester goes to the nations capital to raise money…I don’t believe that has ever happened before
    new york city maybe..but dc?

  4. ed1

Confusing, indeed. $7 for a “hammer and sickle?” Maybe he’s trying to find some capitalistic “Black Russians” in the capitol to donate money they have “Stoly” to back the hinterlands revolution. Absolut)ely!

Schorr boat is way off course, he is making mistake after mistake. Those who are advising him are the same people that he would appoint to his staff if he every were elected. Scary, Scary, Scary.

  6. SOWHATELSEISNEW?

Schorr is a troll? or is he just “trolling”. If so, why in D.C.? Seems odd to me. No one with money in Westchester is willing to support him? Seems odd when that Circus Zherka guy is out there looking to buy the DA’s office.

Got another call from Andy today, informing me that his enormous clipper/shredder will be available to me one day this weekend. He never fails to keep me updated. I wonder if Schrek is still the movie of the decade. God, are we not lucky to be in such good hands?

Trolling, I like it. Where is all the Westchester money that is coming into his campaign? Schorr should pull the plug now and get to work as a Lawyer and make some money from himself. This little “Make me feel good campaign” is going no where. D.A. Janet DiFiore wins twice this year, first a defeat of Tony Castro and his cronies; Zherka, Blassberg, Lovett and Tony himself. Then onto a second victory against Schorr if he is still running by November.
A message to Castro and Schorr, “You are judged by the company you keep”.

why would dan schorr accept the support of sam zherka
knowing he is under investigation in new york…why didn;t
dan schor get the support of the conservative or the IND
party?..without those party endorsement no republican has
a chance to win…and schorr does have a bright future
which he apparently wants to throw away in the hopes
that he gets support from zherka and the guardian which
is zherka and blassberg…maybe they think castro will
get a judgship, and the IND line will then go to
schorr…however without the conservative line it will
not matter one whit…and for schorr making his debut
in this fashion is not the best long term strategy…
he is still young but others will remember his associations
    long after this race…

Agree with Jeff, Schorr seems to be throwing away any political future by fumbling the way he is. I think he should answer your question about the comments he made on the radio about his willingness to accept an endorsement from Zherka. Those comments alone show you how much of a novice he is, he should know that Zherka and Castro are tied at the hips. Or is he cowtailing to Zherka out of fear. District Attorney’s and District Attorney candidates need to have a strong backbone and stand up against those who are doing wrong especially if they are under investigation. I will say it again, Schorr is way in over his head. Give back the donations and go back to your job, you cannot win this race.

Castro, of course, hasn’t a prayer. The Guardian’s leadership, by promoting him, is obviously interested only in power and influence, not good government, as their endorsement ultimately, hurts the Republicans Schorr and Astorino, and aids only in paradoxically advancing DiFiore, simply forcing her machine to spend more primary money. The Conservative leadership, too, is disinterested in good government, nefariously promoting Democratic liberalism under their mendacious, tattered flag of supposedly fiscal and social conservative values. The ultimate loser in all of this is the unschooled public, who have been effectively disenfranchised. In effect, the Guardian and the head of the Conservative Party are in the business of seeing to it that the supposed opposition prevails. So, let’s get down to examining their TRUE motivation in all of this.

  12. jEFF

there can only be one true motivation for those not
schooled in democratic principles, and for those who
believe that bullying others to get their way is acceptable
and for those who seek control of the reigns of government
when in fact they have demonstrated total irresponsibility
and misrepresentation in everything they have done…
and the motivation is not for the benefit of the public..
it is a self serving power grab more remeniscent of
totaliarian soviet block regimes of the 1950’s

  13. Wish for Better

RJ, people have a right to their opinion, if Zherka says he wants to support Dan Schorr, there is no way Dan can say: “No, I demand you not offer me any support.”
It is how democracy works, you want to hate Dan, that is your choice, but, hate is not what democracy is about.

  14. rj

I do not hate anyone, this is politics, it not personal. If Mr. Schorr wants to openly state that he would accept the Guardian Newspaper endorsement he then is inviting Sam Zherka into his life so to speak. If Zherka and the Guardian newspaper came out and endorsed Mr. Schorr without Mr. Schorr seeking the endorsement that would be different. But Mr. Schorr publicly got on a local radio station and said he would accept the endorsement of Sam Zherka. When you make those types of statements you in essence are soliciting the endorsement and inviting a man who is being investigated criminally into your living room. It is not about hate, it is about what is best the people Westchester County. Needless to say, I personally think Janet Difiore is the best candidate and deserves to be re-elected.
