Cheney to write book about gov’t career

NEW YORK (AP) — Former Vice President Dick Cheney has signed a book deal with a conservative imprint of Simon & Schuster and said he hopes readers of all ideologies will be interested in his story.
The memoir by Cheney, widely considered the most powerful vice president in history, is expected to be published in Spring 2011, a few months after President George W. Bush’s book comes out.
Cheney’s work is currently untitled and will cover his long career in government, from chief of staff under President Ford to vice president under Bush, from Vietnam and Watergate to the first Gulf War and the Sept. 11 attacks.
In a telephone interview Tuesday with The Associated Press, the 68-year-old Cheney noted that he had never written a book about his years in government, which dates back to the 1960s.
“I’m persuaded there are a lot of interesting stories that ought to be told,” Cheney said. “I want my grandkids, 20 or 30 years from now, to be able to read it and understand what I did, and why I did it.”
Financial terms were not disclosed. A publishing official with knowledge of the negotiations, but not authorized to publicly discuss, said the deal was likely worth at least $2 million.

How about “It Always Seems Like a Good Idea at the Time,” or, “A Cynical Dick Meets Curious George?” If he wants his grandchildren to read any of this, his daughter and her wife better hurry up and start putting in adoption requests.

CHENEY’s book should be an interesting if not illuminating read about this country if ‘the OBAMA’ and the DUMB-DEMBHOLES allow the new MARXIST STATES of AMERIKA to exist until it gets published!!!
Had they better understood the public will, and concentrated on Bin Laden, and, one way or the other, GOT the SOB without stumbling blindly into the quagmire of Iraq…..all water under the bridge of history.
My name is Five Time Deferment Dick Cheney and I had other priorities than fighting in the Vietnam War as I was to much of a coward and I had other things to do. I found it more convenient once I joined the PNAC to put others lives at risk especially as I am the one who orchestrated starting the War in Iraq based on lies that I created. In reality I am a Neocon Chickenhawk as I will put others lives at risk as I still have more important things to do. I as well believe in water boarding regardless if it is against the Geneva Convention as I really could care less as I am above International Law.
