Kaplowitz gives state leaders failing grades

Posted by: Gerald McKinstry - Posted in Michael Kaplowitz, Uncategorized on Jun 29, 2009

Legislator Michael Kaplowitz, a Somers Democrat and vice chairman of the county board, on Tuesday is expected to issue a report card on how Albany’s stalemate is affecting Westchester taxpayers. Not surprisingly, the grade isn’t good.

Kaplowitz, a possible candidate for state Legislature (both the Assembly or Senate appear to be possibilities), gave the Capitol crew Fs in math, health, English and civics. He’s also expected to issue reports on how inaction on certain bills could raise taxes, double bus fares and cost the county thousands of jobs.

“They’re taking dysfunction to a whole new level,” Kaplowitz said Monday.

Maybe he and his associates’ time would be more valuably spent fixing the dysfunction, spending, and tax-crazy attitude on the County Board first – then go after Albany, the Vatican, the Space Program, the Yankees, and the nuclear proliferation treaty.
