Redistricting behind GOP coup, says Pace professor (updated)

June
29

Chris Malone, a Pace University political science professor, believes that redistricting is behind the political coup in Albany. He told The Journal News that the GOP may be fearing losses in the upcoming elections since further losses would batter an already wounded party when they redraw district boundaries.

New York could, however, be more like Iowa, he said and change the way it redistricts. It’s an issue that could be resolved fairly at a constitutional convention, Malone said.

“Something definitely has to change,” he said.

Others see a Democratic lock by 2013.

Read more about the GOP and its reasonings for the coup here.

You do know that the delegates run for election on the Senate lines three per district.

I don’t think people fully understand what a Constitutional Convention real is, and how one gets elected as a delegate.

    VJ Machiavelli
    NO MORE SCHUMER
    NO MORE PELOSI
    NO MORE RANGEL
NO MORE ENGEL AND HIS MILLION DOLLAR HOME IN MARYLAND.

The GOP had a coup in NY STATE??? Thought it was just in HONDURAS where they removed the MARXIST-toady ZELAYA – but then again MARXIST-toadys are probably the same anywhere even in the NY SENATE!!!

I suppose any coup that stops Democratic control is OK with VJ Machiavelli, smartporpoise, ed1, Zyskander Jaimot and any of the other conservatives. The concept of party-flipping is AOK when it was Sue Swanson and Bernice Spreckman; Ben Nighthorse Campbell and Pedro Espada; not-so-good when it was Jim Jeffords, Arlen Spector, and Janet DiFiore.

Will not ‘moderate’ to fit your MORONIC MARXIST leavings!!!
