Newly changed Senate waits for Queens Democrat to start

Posted by: Cara Matthews - Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 09, 2009

Sen. Pedro Espada’s return to the Senate Democratic conference today means Democrats will once again be in charge of the chamber. Democrats have called session for this evening, but they can’t start until they have all 32 members (needed for a quorum). Sen. George Onorato, D-Queens, had a doctor’s appointment and is driving back up to Albany from New York City.

According to the Times Union’s Capitol Confidential blog, Onorato had just left the Plattekill Rest Area in Ulster County shortly before 6:30 p.m. He was being escorted by State Police.

Absolutely hilarious! Onerato, whoever the hell HE is, has just left the Plattekill Rest Area and is powering towards Albany, accompanied by State Police escort. Let’s hope they don’t run unsuspecting drivers off the road and kill someone, as Corzine and his troopers almost did in NJ not too long ago.
