Boykin back at City Hall?
The Journal News is hearing reports that former mayoral aide John Boykin is back at work in Mount Vernon City Hall as deputy director in the Youth Bureau. Boykin, who was suspended in March, said today that the job was “not official” and declined to comment further.
Mount Vernon chief of staff, Yolanda Robinson, did not return calls today about the matter.
Boykin was suspended amid controversy, after he was accused of making tape-recorded threats against Samuel Rivers, a critic of the mayor. Young had suspended Boykin without pay, saying he would review the matter. Rivers filed a federal lawsuit against Boykin, Mayor Clinton Young, city Democratic Party Chairman Devereaux Cannick and the city of Mount Vernon over the alleged threats, but withdrew the lawsuit in April.

It is the same old thuggery in Mount Vernon.. The Mayor does what he wants and does not think of the consequences. Does Mayor Clinton Young think the Residents of Mount Vernon are Stupid? The residents of Mount Vernon were better off with Ernie Davis. In the Short time Young has been office, He has surpassed anything that Davis has been involved with. To reappoint this Loser Boykin is a slap in the face of all Mount Vernon Residents and there is Something called “CONDUCT UNBECOMING”.. Look it up Clinton Young since most Governments follow it and are held to a higher standard and you do not… Just keep running Mount Vernon into the Ground.
Was a time when, although politics and government in Mt Vernon was acknowledged as third world in theory and execution, the prevailing opinion was that they would eventually take note of the paradigm of County and the State legislatures, and mature into at least a fumbling, bumbling sort of efficacy. Little did everyone realize that the County and State, ironically, would instead FOLLOW Mt Vernon’s lead into chaos and buffoonery worthy of a third rate comedy routine.
