tony castro has no case against janet..she has one of the
highest felony conviction rates in the state according
to DCJS..DA’s do not impact the commission of crimes..they
punish them..the police are responsible for arresting
violent criminals in the various localities including
mt vernon..da’s go to court..police take care of
the collar…tony castro cannot be allowed anywhere
near the da’s office because of his surly connections
one of his chief supporters sam zherka admits he is under
investigation in new york…if sam hadn’t revealed that
no one would know and tony would have plausible deniability
but sam put it in his own lawsuit..so tony is charged with
knowing and accepting support from him anyway..thats
no way for a candidate for da to behave…da’s must be held
to a higher standard..but as to the two issues raised
death penalty and rockefeller drug laws, I would imagine
that the good people of mount vernon of whatever party
or no party would be concerned to the extent that laws
do not reflect the mores of the society..the rockefeller
laws were way too tough on lower level users and dealers
and are universally recognized as out of date..and as
for capital punishment you cannot impose it unless
you are certain that the person getting it is in fact
guilty and as we have seen from DNA testing that
is becoming a problem..want to execute an innocent
man…I certainly don’t

Where to start? Janet’s lie about Tony Castro being walked into the election office by Sam Zherka? Tony walked in with his family. Janet’s people were there, did they claim to have seen a ghost? New 12 gave good coverage of the event.

Or, is Janet so narrow minded that she thinks the honest citizens of Mt. Vernon are only interested in the death penalty and drug law reform? What about all the shootings that have been going on in that city? What about the fact that homicide, robbery and rape statistics are up in our fair county while they are down in the rest of New York State?
Tony Castro has a good case against you Janet see if you can stand on the issues and not innuendos.

Getting away from Castro for a moment, any practicing, experienced prosecutor can tell you dozens of stories of violent recidivist felons who might have walked, but who pleaded guilty and received life incarceration when the leverage of the death penalty was available to be negotiated.

I am as conservative as anyone else in law enforcement..the
death penalty cannot be imposed so long as DNA testing
reveals so many false convictions…that is not a liberal
idea it is simply the state of the science…Reform of
the drug laws have to do with the rockefeller laws which
penalize possession and sale of small amounts of drugs
everyone in law enforcement agrees that the lose are
way out of line with appropriate punishment…those
of us who have been in the business of prosecution understand these are not political issues…but the
real question is how tony castro can justify having two
people both actively supporting him, one who is under
investigation for drug dealing and prostitution by his
own admission in manhattan and one who was recently
arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation as a misdemeanor…totally inappropriate whether or not
you favor the death penalty

Kinder drug laws and anti-death penalty? These are the two ideas she pulls out of her “prosecutorial” bonnet to appeal to the beleaguered MV citizenry who watch bullets fly and children die daily? Whomever wrote this for her should be fired. If she wrote it herself, she should fire herself.
