Cox Makes Case For State GOP Chairman
Ed Cox continued his push this morning to become the state’s next Republican Party chairman, putting out a letter that lays out his agenda to revive the state GOP.
He’s calling for better coordination among county committees and the state party and adding staff and resources to the state committee. He said voters are fed up with the one party Democratic rule in New York.
“Our state government crushes our citizens with taxes they can’t afford and for which they get too little in return. It is running up massive debt through “backdoor” borrowing, and it regulates away our personal and economic freedoms,” he wrote in a letter to the Republican county chairman.
“New York has a government that drains the lifeblood from our economy by driving our businesses, our young people and our most productive workers to other places to live, work and raise their families. These burdens on our people have reached intolerable limits under the one-party Democratic rule that for the first time since 1935 has a total grip on our state government. One-party rule is not healthy for New York and voters know it.”

Nice letter but it will take “REAL POLITICAL LEADERSHIP” to raise 50 to 100 Million Dollars for the 2010 races, recruit “LIVE” candidates to run in 2010.
Transform the morbid NY GOP into a “LEAN MEAN FIGHTING MACHINE” I do not believe Ed Cox has what it takes, But the Horse race is on and he is one of the horse, I have no Horse in this race, and if I were to bet on a horse it would not be Ed Cox, Sorry Ed I don’t believe you are ready for prime time. I am sure you are a very able Lawyer and a good advisor and can raise a buck or two. Bt I just don’t see that you have the Political Leadership that is need at this time.

The GOP has been morbid for many years. It has been like that for years. The leadership has always been afraid of the people around them so they never gave younger people an opportunity to shine and move into leadership positions. That is why we are in the situation we are in today.
Who do you believe has the Political Leadership to make the GOP a viable party in New York.
Dear Yonkers
I have been out of the NYGOP for a very long time I was thrown under the “Bus” by those who have destroyed it and those who have ruined their own careers in Washington, Albany and NYC. These were the “Young Stars” of the NYGOP. One by one I have seen them ruin their own marriage’s and careers.
So I am not up on who is the next “REAL POLITICAL LEADER” The reason I am not a fan of Ed Cox is I have seen him at a few events in NYC during the McCain Campaign and listen to him talk about joining it. I was not impressed at all, he was just terrible. I said to some Young active party members that this is no way to get supports for McCain during the primary, this was before Rudy and the others dropped out.
I will say that he seems to have a number of supports who feel he has what it takes, and they are leaders in the party.
They will have to live with the choice not I.
I will be able to say I told you so, or EAT CROW, only time will tell which it will be.

P.s I don’t mine eating crow if I am wrong.
Good point.
I hope none of us have to eat crow.
VJ..who on earth threw you under the bus…and those
that do the throwing usually end up under the bus
themselves..
Yes The Consultant in the end they did, they lost their Congressional, Senate & City Council
seats.
When you throw the “LOYAL ONES” under for the sake of trying to appease the “greedy ones”, in the end you lose everything.
They had no “VIRTUE” and it showed in the end.
But that is all in the past, and we must move on, but I do enjoy seeing their “STARS” go DARK one by one
