Here’s Senate Minority Leader Dean Skelos’ reaction to today’s decision by the state appeals court to reject Gov. David Paterson’s attempt to appoint a lieutenant governor.
“The Appellate Court today upheld the position I have taken all along, that the Governor acted recklessly and unconstitutionally when he put his own political interests ahead of the public interest to appoint a Lieutenant Governor. I am confident if the Governor decides to appeal this decision the Court of Appeals willalso see that the Governor had no legal authority to make the appointment.”
