Gillibrand Gets Maffei’s Endorsement
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand picked up the endorsement this morning of Rep. Dan Maffei, D-Syracuse. It comes a few weeks after Rep. Eric Massa, D-Corning, 
also endorsed her. She has the the support of 15 of her Democratic colleagues in the House.
Gillibrand is running for a full six-year term next year after being appointed U.S. senator in January by Gov. David Paterson. Gillibrand also won’t face Rep. Peter King, R-Nassau County, next year; he announced yesterday he won’t run for the seat.
Maffei’s support came after he and Gillibrand ate a Gianelli sausage at the New York State Fair Friday . He touted her commitment to creating new jobs and rebuilding New York’s economy for the 21st century.
“In Central New York and Washington, DC, I have seen first-hand Kirsten’s tireless efforts to get New York back on the right track,” Maffei said in a statement.
“In just six months, she’s brought an innovative approach to creating new jobs and rebuilding the economy so it works for New York families. She knows what’s at stake for families in Central New York during these tough economic times, and she’s working every day to improve the lives of families in every corner of New York. That’s why I’m proud to endorse her for the U.S. Senate.”
