if you have no problem with the legislation why do
you have a problem with the politicians without
whom there would be no law..who do you think proposes
these bills..they don't come out of thin air...in
this case both stewart cousins and spano knew jimmy
nolan and his wife..they understood that he had very
servere health issues as the result of working at
ground zero and they also knew there were thousands
of others in the same position hundreds in westchester
alone..so why shouldn't the politicians design a
bill to make sure these heroes could at least file
claims..remember no money is being given away here
just a door opening to filing a claim and having
to prove it later..I frankly don't understand what
is self promoting about that..or do you not expect
the elected officials to make the announcement..

"incredible?" "amazing?" Hey - I have no problem w/this legislation. What irks me is that it's so obvious from the wording in these posts that the politicians themselves are trying to do nothing but unabashedly generate accolades for themselves. Most of the electorate is so stupid, they fall for it, as is obvious when you look around Albany.

first off i have no idea who CD is..but secondly can't
anyone deal with the issues on these blogs rather
than engage in personal invective...the bill will
allow first responders who risked their health and
their lives to file claims..all it does is open
the door to the opportunity to submit evidence
that whatever ailment they now have was the result
of working at ground zero..how is that poltical
and what has it got to do with campaign war chests
if you want responders to responds the next time
we are hit (god forbid) then you better make sure
that if they get sick because of where they have
to work that the goverment is there for them afterwards
and that's why Mike Bloomberg is a hypocrite...he calls
for praise for the responders during 9./11 ceremonies
and then tries to stop the bill from becoming law
shame on him

Since we all know who C.D is, spend some of your campaign funds publicizing it. And pay for some of it, too, out of those war chests. We're broke - you obviously aren't.

This is such an incredible piece of legislaton. This will undoubtedly help thousands and it's unfortunate that the Journal News does not publicize this information better. Kudos to Mike Spano and Andrea Stewart-Cousins for a job well done!
