Yonkers Federation of Teachers endorses Lesnick

Posted by: egarcia - Posted in Uncategorized on Oct 07, 2009

The Yonkers Federation of Teachers will announce its support for the re-election of Yonkers City Council President Chuck Lesnick tomorrow.

Federation president Pat Puleo said that the incumbent Democrat’s support for increased education funding and school reconstruction projects are behind the union’s endorsement.

“Chuck Lesnick has always been a tireless fighter for public school education here in Yonkers. He is always willing to put Yonkers children first and we need him to continue the fight for education, after school programming, arts, music and athletics in our schools,” Puleo, stated in a press release today.

Lesnick will face Republican Jim Castro-Blanco in the November election.

  1. the consultant

if the people of yonkers think that the school teachers
should control the next city council president then
they deserve anything and everything they get…lesnick
has been a disaster…for the taxpayers of the city..
naturally when the taxpayers lose the teachers win..
in fact its time that someone stood up for the taxpayers
in yonkers and made the right decisions for the right
reasons..that is why jim castro blanco will beat lesnick
just as lesnick beat richard martinelli///quitely under
the radar and in a low turnout race..
