tjndc5-5msdjgpkqogjww2z4et_layoutCommon Sense Now PAC, a recently formed Political Action Committee whose mission is to restore “common sense” to all levels of government, this week announced that it is “up and running and ready to take on real reform and put common sense back into government.”

The committee on Thursday opened offices in Peekskill and introduced it’s executive director, Ann Kutter of Yorktown.

“This office will serve as a hub for all good citizens to use to conduct research, plan events and educate our public officials and the public about the need to restore ‘common sense’ to government from school boards to the halls of Congress,” said County Legislator George Oros, R-Cortlandt, the PACs founder. Oros is not seeking re-election this fall.

Oros said that too often elected leaders rely on bureaucracy and fail to see the bigger picture. Oros said he “has witnessed hundreds of examples where using common sense to solve a problem would have saved taxpayers money and achieved quicker results.”

What a candidate. He made a great County Legislator with his common sense now, I am glad he wants to go higher up.

Common sense: women cannot have an abortion?
Common sense: ruin our natural resources to make a few bucks?
Common sense: support the insurance and pharamceutical industries over the consumer?

    Common sense? No, nonsense.

I have always appreciated the work that Oros has done,
and things he has stood up for, ie: keeping sex offenders away from children, cutting the county budget,
it just makes common sense because we are the most over taxed in the country and are continually nickle and dimed to death.

We should stop allowing the govt, our govt, to become a “nanny govt”.
Govt should only be there to set laws and policy, not look into our homes and privacy.
Welfare was set up as a safety net, not a way of life, and our country was founded on principals of a republican democracy, and capitalism, not taking money from those who have worked hard for it to be redistributed to those who have sat on their collective asses. Then why would anyone have any incentive to actually work for a living.

Didn’t someone famous make those statements.
Aren’t I just regurgitating information that people in this country don’t seem to be able to absorb?

How about the govt spending our money, yes OUR MONEY, like crazy for ridiculous pork items in their district for votes.

I didn’t need them to fix up a conservatory and park that no one goes to in Rye.
    (Yesterday’s Journal distorted news).

I didn’t need them to go to wristbands in Playland this year. That has been tried before and failed.
What happened to the scheme of “playland cards” last year and the year before that didn’t expire. touted as the answer to all our prayers.

And Buying the rides alone was supposed to be the answer the year before that.

“When you don’t learn from the past mistakes of history, you are destined to make the same mistakes”

Didn’t someone famous make that statement.
But that only makes common sense doesn’t it?

You may not care for Oro’s religious views on abortion, Whatever they may be, however, I don’t care to pay to pay for someone to have an abortion. Unless they are the victim of a crime, let them pay for their own abortion – if that is within their own religious conviction, it is their business.

How about don’t play if you are not ready to pay?

Just my opinion. AND MY tax dollar.

    Does that make common sense?

What a boob this guy is. Ttrying to catch on the Greg Ball’s coattails. Everywhere Ball is photographed, see Oros checking him for hemmoroids. He’s running for Leibell’s seat when Leibell becomes County Executive next year. Oros makes all these statements about politicians and the good old biys, menawhile Oros is the very face of political cronyism and the status quo. He needs to try to work a 65 hour week in a real job in NYC and try to make it in the concrete jungle.
