Bloomberg not backing Astorino

October
29

37A picture might be worth a thousand words, but not necessarily an endorsement when its with Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

New York’s Republican mayor isn’t backing Rob Astorino for county executive — even though the Republican touted the endorsement during a debate Wednesday and campaign literature.

Astorino had the picture to prove it.

Bloomberg and Astorino met last month and had a substantive discussion, though there was a misunderstanding that an endorsement actually took place, said Astorino’s Spokesman William O’Reilly.

“The error was mine and  mine alone. I apologize for the misunderstanding,” O’Reilly said.

The Bloomberg campaign did not return calls Thursday.

The Spano campaign said it shows that Astorino has been misleading the public during this race.

“It’s just another example that this guy doesn’t tell the truth,” Spano Spokesman Paul Bader said of Astorino. “It’s another example of inaccurate statements he keeps on making.”

The Spano camp, earlier in the day, had called on Astorino’s campaign to pull all of its misleading advertisements — ones that were cited by a fair campaigns group.

The Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee on Wednesday faulted Astorino for five complaints made by the Spano campaign and made two against the Spano campaign.

mike bloomberg may have been a help to rob astorino had
he endorsed..the fact that he did not is an indication
that astorino’s campaign staff are too willing to
inflate the facts which in the end bite you in the butt

Is that midget Bloomberg standing on a box (ala J. Edgar Hoover), or is Astorino as short as he is?

This is a big problem for Rob Astorino, he has been lying throughout the entire campaign and he has finally been caught red handed. With the revelation of Astorino lying and the good Republican Senator Nick Spano coming out and supporting Andy Spano one can see that the momentum is clearly with Andy Spano.

ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR! – ROB ASTORINO IS A LIAR!

Just watched channel 12 news and I must say Rob Astorino may have sealed his coffin today. Announcing that he was endorsed by Mayor Bloomberg and having to admit that he laired is troubling and will change people’s perception of whether they can trust you or not. In addition to the above lie, the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee ruled against Rob Astorino on 5 other lies he has made during the campaign. This is bothersome and I could never support a man who lies all the time. Does Astorino tell the truth with anything?

Truly pathetic and sophomoric shilling above. Get out your golf clubs and shuffle board paddles, fellow(s), and follow Andy to retirement in Florida. Maybe he knows some two bit politician down there who needs hangers-on and he can find you a position.

  6. Rob

Today was a good day for Andy Spano, Rob Astorino has been exposed. Rob Astorino was foolish for making a blatant lie on live TV, I guess he assumed no one would check his lie. Nick Spano supporting Andy Spano will give Andy Spano’s campaign a big boost, it appears that Rob Astorino is in trouble once again.

    Spano 58% Astorino 42% ???

  7. Rich

Astorinio is getting desperate, his lie about Bloomberg is an indication that he will say whatever he wants in the last few days in the campaign whether it is true or not. Astorino has been lying during the entire campaign and it has finally caught up to him. Vote for an honest representative to serve as our County Executive, vote for Andy Spano.

  8. sherry

Astorino’s Spokesman William O’Reilly said the mistake was his.

You mean to tell me that Mr. Astorino does not know if he was endorsed by Bloomberg or not and he goes on live television and announces that he was endorsed by him, this is scary stuff for a man who wants to county executive.

Mr. Bloomberg who is the Mayor of a city that is liberal to moderate would never endorse Mr. Astorino, especially in an election year when he is running. Mayor Bloomberg would not tie himeself to a man like Mr. Astorino who does not believe in a women’s right to choose.

We should have the right to decide what we want to do with our bodies, no man should have the right to dictate to a women what she can or can not do with her body.

  9. ed1

This race is for governance of a small county in the northeast. It has nothing to do with abortion, the Gaza Strip, relations with Russia, international space exploration, the Marshall Plan, tennis matches, or Leonardo Da Vinci.

  10. the consultant

andy spano’s negatives are too high for him to win..46%
no incumbant wins with negatives that high…and they
are even higher among the non party registered voters
most likely to determine the election 60%
