Yonkers council candidate Perez announces endorsements

October
30

Yonkers City Council candidate Virgina Perez announced endorsements today by the Yonkers Police Benevolent Association, the Yonkers Captains, Lieutenants and Sergeants Association and the Yonkers Uniformed Officers Association.

Perez is running on the Conservative, Independence and Working Families lines against Democrat Wilson Terrero, who only beat her in the primary by 10 votes.

The two are vying to replace outgoing Councilwoman Sanday Annabi, a Democrat.

Perez’s other endorsements include the Yonkers Federation of Teachers and SEIU’s 32BJ and Local 704.

  1. Convoluted

Simultaneous Conservative and Working Families endorsements, and after primary-ing in the Democratic Party? I have no interest in this race, but just goes to show what has happened to our society and that no one involved in politics truly believes in anything, other than power and patronage.

@ Convoluted Its all convoluted in Yonkers. Don’t blame Virginia. The Conservatives aren’t really conservative – they’re the firefighters!

Virginia Perez is a law and order centrist – not a politician. She has a real job in the private sector, unlike these non profit and public sector parasites. She’s a homeowner and college educated.

The unions like her because she’s clean. Her opponent’s lawyer cheated by filing an affidavit vote in a district in which he doesnt live. That’s the kind of blatant cheating she’s up against. Perez lost in the primary by only 10 VOTES!! running against the democratic machine! That says something about what a campaigner she is.

She’s entering the race for the right reasons. Her younger brother was murdered in a robbery while working his second job. She wants to do something about crime and the reluctance of SW Yonkers residents to work with the police.

She’s a great young woman and is HEAD and SHOULDERS above most sleazy Yonkers pols. That the Democratic machine is working overtime AGAINST her is her best endorsement.
