Financial Disclosures Online

November
2

NYPIRG has posted online the hand-written financial disclosure statements of state lawmakers on its Web site.

The forms are currently searchable by the lawmaker’s name and counties represented, as well as the occupation of themselves and their spouses.

Lawmakers each year after required to file out the forms, though the law is often criticized because legislators are able to delete how much they make in outside income and who they may have outside business dealings with.

They are required each May to file the reports for the prior calendar year, so the latest files are for 2008.
