Paterson Starts Ads For 2010 Campaign

November
5

In an attempt to build support for his candidacy next year, Gov. David Paterson released two television ads for his 2010 campaign that will begin airing statewide Friday.

The first ad, titled “Some Say,” tries to make the case for how he’s made tough decisions in the state’s fiscal crisis and ends with the title “Governor Paterson, The People First.”

At the end of the 30-second spot, he says, “It might have been easier if all I thought about was running for Governor, but I think it’s more important to do what’s right for the people of New York.”

The second ad is a biographical ad, titled “When,” and discusses how he overcame the odds because of his blindness and even how he’s made mistakes at governor. It concludes with “but in the depths of an historic recession, you take what you have learned and have the strength to do what’s right for the people of New York.”

Here’s each script and each ad.

“Some Say”
“Some say I shouldn’t be running for Governor.
Some state legislators said that when I forced them to close 30 billion dollars of deficits.
Some union leaders said that when I asked their unions to make the same sacrifices that everyone else was making.
And some big corporations said that when I made them pay their fair share in taxes.
It might have been easier if all I thought about was running for Governor but I think it’s more important to do what’s right for the people of New York.”

“When”
“When this is what you see of the world, you learn to listen.
When your family moves so you can attend a mainstream school, you learn to be strong.
When you graduate high school in three years, Columbia University and Hofstra Law, you learn you can excel.
And when you become Governor, you learn you will make mistakes.
But in the depths of an historic recession, you take what you have learned and have the strength to do what’s right for the people of New York.”

With all of his “education,” he conveniently fails to mention that he never passed the bar exam.

Very cheap shot smartporpoise, Spitzer did and look where it landed him, Clinton said I never had …...I could go on and on with all the people who passed the bar and are now behind “BARS”

“Lord” Paterson is running and Cuomo is waiting for lightning to strike.

Laziostein is waiting to be told by Arthur Finkelstein & Co what to say.

“Big Brother” Obama is waiting to make his next big endorsement.

“King” Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Schumer is waiting for his next “MEAL”.

Rudy & Patakistein are waiting to board to Siberia Express.

When you’re my leader and you brag about where you were “educated”, and you can’t pass the minimal requirements to allow you to practice your avowed profession, you’re fair game for correction. Spitzer, Clinton? You might try to find a night class in Logic 101 yourself.

  4. VJ Machiavelli

smartporpoise maybe you should change “LEADERS” how about joining the Republicans and help change New York State for the better.

You obviously have enjoyed, for years, incessant posting while eschewing reading. Were you to have taken a modicum of interest in posts other than your own, you would know my political leanings, and they certainly are not to the left. When I refer to Paterson as my “leader,” I refer to the Governor of the State within which I reside.

  6. VJ Machiavelli

smartporpoise If I did read I would not have said it was a cheap shot, I guess you are upset that I said join the GOP, don’t take it so personal try to enjoy the moment, and I see you to are a “VAMPIRE”

I’m enjoying, VJ. So far, at least. And, yes, I can only be stopped by a silver stake. Not to be confused with a Silver steak, which is what Sheldon has been enjoying daily for way too long at the expense of the overburdened and battered taxpayers of the State of NY.

  8. VJ Machiavelli

Smartporpoise I too am a Vampire I go by Count Vampire J. Machiavelli, I cannot be stop by a any means, I am a special one of a kind VAMPIRE.

VJ Don’t be such a Vampire. There are other ways you can change things. You are better than this.

You were part of it for so long, why do you want to distroy it?

  12. smartporpoise

You’re thinking of the Wolf Man. Vampires, like leopards and dalmatians cannot change their spots.

Yonkers i have seen the enemy and it is Arthur Finkelstein & Co created monsters Patakistein & Laziostein. Think back to 1994 when they sold Herb London down the drain or 1998 when they sold Vacco & D’Amato, in 2000 the created Laziostein & sold him down the drain (he still does not realize they are using his EGO against him) in 2002 they sold Faso down the drain (he should have won but he to has an EGO problem)
then in 2006 they sold everybody down the drain.

As for “Rudy & Co” he changed for the worst just read Russell Hardings blog Rudy Veritas to get an idea.

I have seen them all up front and personal it is time for them to leave on the next train to Siberia.

VJ, I know you have seen the enemy, you were part of that crowd. I guess Art created the Count Vampire J. Machiavelli.

Don’t destroy what you were part of and benefited from.

  15. VJ Machiavelli

Yonkers, I was thrown under the bus by that crowd I know them for what they are. I received no benefit.

As long as Arthur Finkelstein & Co are around the NYGOP is in deep trouble, they sold everyone down the drain.

It is time we send them packing to Siberia, for the good of the NYGOP and NYS citizens.

No more Patakistein’s and Laziostein’s or any other creation of Arthur Finkelstein & Co

VJ, you were on the top of your game for many years. You built a good business from it, benefited significant others and you currently receive a pension. You benefited well.

You could have done better. But that is in the past.
