Cuomo, Paterson Seeking Campaign Bucks

November
12

With the next campaign finance filing about two months away, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is bringing in John Bon Jovi to give a special performance at his birthday fundraiser next month.

Tickets start at $1,000.

Meanwhile, an event for Gov. David Paterson is being held next Thursday with Ellen Malcolm, president and founder of EMILY’s List. She will join First Lady Michelle Paige Paterson at a Women for Paterson event at the home of Sally Minard in Manhattan. It’s one of several fundraisers Paterson has coming up.

The January filings could be a key moment for Democrats to determine whether Paterson can be a viable candidate next year amid Cuomo’s popularity in the state and his fundraising prowess.

Cuomo ended the July period with $10 million in the bank compared to $5 million for Paterson.

  1. Bon Jovi My Bum

We don’t need a campaign from either one of them. What could either tell us that we don’t already know – other than some new, innovative ways to raise taxes even higher? Instead of using a gun like any other self-respecting mugger, both pretend to be friends of the family and of the public wallet while they mug you with slick rhetoric, doubletalk, and sleight of hand.
